  1. Its the cadmium plated version and as far as I remember has only one connector on the top. Will be going out later so will have a look at the wiring and the sender unit.
  2. Yes I have got the sender unit, can not remember if its a VDO though but it is of the same range as the gauge.
  3. Hi Have another little problem - I have fitted a VDO oil pressure gauge and wired it up as follows. + = 12v ignition feed G = Signal from oil pressure sender. The other terminal I grounded. When I turn on the ignition with engine not running the gauge goes full scale. Have I made another mess of things ???????????? Regards Frax
  4. I am always amazed that the results you sometimes get with a got wollop.
  5. Looks like I will be out with my test meter in the morning to see if I can find my black/green wire, Strange that it is missing as that part of the loom had not been fiddled with or so I thought.
  6. The easy outs are a waist of time if you ask me, never ever got them to work. Slot might work but you chance knocking of the head or parting it in two. A good sharp knock on the bolt head sometimes works as the shock often releases any corrosion on the bolt threads. Mole Grips if you can get them in or you do get sockets that will grip on a rounded head.
  7. Had the same problem so I cut my one and remade the ends with the correct plugs..........One pain in the ars* job. Nice and neat but I would not like to do it again. The only other problem I have is that the connections for the fuel tank sender are at the rear and my tank is under the drivers seat (300tdi 1995)
  8. Hi all I have a rear wiper wash switch from Carling and wondered if anyone could give me some advice on the wiring. It says that I should have a black wire with a light green trace, I have a black but no trace. Green I have and I take it that this is the one that is split to two points. Got the others. Regards Frax
  9. LANDROVER DEFENDER 90/110 BONNET CABLE for only £835 http://www.ebay.co.u...f3#ht_500wt_970 Item number: 370545409267 You will have to be quick as it ends very soon.........
  10. These things happen - at least they are done and should last for years. Frax
  11. If I remember right the calipers don't fit, the bolt holes are different. It was a while back but I would check the spacings. Frax
  12. Hi all I have just fitted a new drivers side wing skin and found that the indicator hole is different from the other wings I have. Ie: old 90 wing round hole. 300tdi wing square hole New wing rectangular hole - I now need to make the passengers hole the same but what Indicators do I need - are they TD5. Regards Frax
  13. As it get hot the oil gets thinner and if its going to leak it will do it then, I would check the crank shaft seal. Regards Frax
  14. Me also - have seen the parts for sale individually but struggle to get it all so a kit would be a lot better. Frax
  15. I would stick with you BF G's - they are a great all round tyre and they last very well, my local tyre dealer does not stock these as they last to long (his words) but he will get them in on request.
  16. I did change the plugs on my loom and it was right pain, you need the correct crimping tool. I only did it as I shortened my loom so it was the main plugs on the bulkhead that I did. Regards Frax
  17. Had it handy as you told me what this thing was.............
  18. Here is the location on the inner wing if you can make it out - you would need to remove you wheel arch to see it.
  19. What a scary thought - mind you if they keep performing as well in the future then they will be lucky if they have 0%
  20. I agree a garden hose is all that is required - once used a pressure washer the the internal fins all washed out. Not a nice sight a naked radiator. Frax
  21. Like it, maybe that why they have had a daft name change.
  22. No checked with him - he also told me that he sent another parcel to a shop, the owner was away for two weeks on holiday and on his return no parcel. His son was running the shop while he was away. He contacted the supplier and the supplier contacted Yodel to be told that they were waiting instruction, he asked who from to be told him but no one had made contact. The supplier then went onto google maps and found that the shop was less than a mile from the depot on a straight road with two mini roundabouts.
  23. Hi have a look at the bottom of this page http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=64578&st=80 still at it but you will see the results so far. Frax
  24. I ordered some parts which were sent DHL now named Yodel, they were sent out on Monday and got to my local depot on Tuesday and was out for delivery, great you may think but it never arrived. Web tracking said UNABLE TO LOCATE, found this strange as they have been here before and unlike the USA I had not loaded the house on a truck and moved it. Wednesday – out for delivery again and that night UNABLE TO LOCATE. Thursday – it must have been travel sick so stayed at depot. Friday - Possible delay, incomplete address. Possible delay – by they are switched on. No wonder things take ages to get done. I did try to phone them but after 3 attempts for about 20min and then the line dies I gave up. Now got the parts from another supplier so if he ever turn up he will be told just to return it. Frax
