  2. has anyone any idea how much a rear half wolf chassis is worth, I may have one for sale if anyone is interested , cheers Brian
  3. I had a tube in one of the tyres and it blew the tyre, the tyre were never abused and did not have any cut marks, but the landrover did carry a bit of weight constantly . just the tyre walls were carp. might have been a bad batch. the tyre I replaced was fine. Bad luck maybe , but bad luck shouldn't come into it when choosing a tyre. Brian
  4. I had exactly the same problem, one tyre kept going down with a leak thru the side wall cracking, and the others were badly cracked with walls pealing away. I've replaced now with bfg. I would not recommend them at all, apart for offroad, then I've got admit they were excellent. Brian
  5. I have a genuine rear half Wolf 110 chassis, what would that be worth, if anything above standard, cheers Brian
  6. X-Flex can I have it cheap if I win , Brian sh%t , forgot you use that already, I thought it was a winner
  7. so not a simple fix, but interesting all the same, wonder if there is any old stock, cheers brian
  8. yes that was what i was after, just engage the pto when low ratio is engaged when offroad, have you more detail what parts are needed or how it is done, cheers brian
  9. I was hoping they were the same speed, to drive two rear axles while in low ratio with two separate props, I know its been done but didn't know how,I was hoping for an easy answer. cheers Brian
  10. for a series gearbox and transfer box am I right in saying, when in low ratio, the output speed to the props is the same as the output to the power take off, cheers Brian
  11. so what is the answer for the 300tdi,is there a turbo for it, please say yes, Brian
  12. what size is the pulley wheel for the aircon pump, for the multi vee belt, Brian
  13. I like them, you can have different shade lenses aswell, kinda "Mad Max" look, cool. I want one Brian
  14. another project you could use it for is a wood gasification camp stove, with or without a fan, do a google | Brian
  15. if you can live with the little extra roof height a another option , I may be doing on one of the landrovers is fitting a rooftent, with either boxed sides from roofrack, or which I more perfer, sit the tent directly on the roof fitted with added reinforcement and maybe another plyboard all sealed to the roof , but with a hatch, to go from tent down inside the Landrover without going outside, quite easy to do , and if done right noone would be any wiser until they went inside, just another option Brian
  16. have you disconnected all leads for 30secs to reset ,sometimes works, just in case you haven't tried it. Brian
  17. the 300tdi can start with no diesel in the filters and any is lost in the combustion cylce, I've ran mine like this for four to five years now with no ill effects, maybe all you may have to do is a bleed on first start up , but after that I've never had any problems. Brian
  18. easiest way is just connect the return feed back to the fuel line before the lift pump, no mixing of fuel and only two solenoid valves needed, if wanted for svo then a very slighted different method but proved can be adopted. Brian
  19. well said, lets face it, before ebay came along, you had to through private ads, with no way of knowing the charactor of person you were dealing with, at least ebay lets you give some feedback. I don't know the guy, but come on, I've seen a lot worse, and for picking on the guy's eggs, do you actually know anything about chickens. I think some people need to grow up. Picking on an indivual is nothing more than been a bully, and I for one dispise a bully. If any newcomer was reading this, I am sure they would soon move on to another forum if they thought that was the mentality of the furum. Rant over. Brian
  20. I have a few gas stoves, twin and single and a twin burner Coleman petrol stove, I have used a single stove for years and love to use firewood (makes for a homely feel) but a twin burner is so much better, and the Coleman stoves's heat is so much hotter than a gas stove, but still carry a single gas stove with a spare canister for emergencies, just carry two, its not that much extra weight or space , for peace of mind and hot meal somewhere remote. Brian
  21. my partner has set her heart on going to Lapland( Rovaniemi, Finland) next Xmas, some 2000 mile journey, flying is out the question, just wondering if anyone has driven the E4 on the east coast of Sweden to top end of Finland, and what kind of mileage per day would be achievable . I would be travelling with a fully loaded 110 and trailer on tow, has anyone got any first hand experience. thanks for your comments cheers Brian
  22. cheers James , nice one, MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and everyone, or HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone who don't celebrate xmas , cheers again Brian
  23. well if you knew me, you would know I go straight for the pictures lol will pva not peel from the metal/paint after a while, just I thought pva worked best on porus surfaces. Brian
  24. l get that drip on my lap from the sunroof, I have a rookrack covered with chequerplate, so couldn't think where the leak was coming from cos it is bone dry under there, didn't think of condensation. I have bought some exercise/fatigue mats(about £4/1.44 from Netto), black with a closed cell foam with a dovetail interlocking edge,I am going to insulate the cab seatbox and floor planels and finish the floor with chequer plate glued down on top, I fancy doing this for the roof now (without the chequerplate) even though I still have a reasonable looking lining. I like your way as well. What glue did you use? was it the spray contact adhesive, or polyurethane. As long as there is no bare metal showing and is stuck down everywhere you shouldn't get any condensation,, and you could even give that a light spray paint of your choice , nice work. Brian
