  5. actually, i take it back! my first event was a club offroad driving day at bala, at the time i had a 90 with a disco 200tdi in and a milemarker, mtrs and on the way down the radiator decided to discard its fins, which left us driving back up to cumbria at 40mph, good day though!
  6. i use the continental style of storage which is a pile or if i have alot i make pile's
  7. i have a gasless mig i mainly use it for thin metal welding and tacking heavier stuff, for that we have an arc, we had an old arc that was oil cooled and 30amp it was good, but gasless does most of my welding to a decent quality
  8. 2001 Ae challenge doing the black runs in a 2.8td trooper with a mile marker and dirt devils, got mildly stuck in the boggy glade sank and had 6 inches on peat on the bonnet, good fun

  12. build it yourself and learn, be it welding or megasquirting (where im directing my grey matter) and learn and when possible buy from homegrown genuine enthusiasts/people cleverer than yourself! in a world of morals (or lack of) this is what i stand by, i.e if you want cranked trailing arms go to dollythelw, proven and money back to the roots all coming from a landcruiser driver with a rover heart! take it easy hugh

  21. 2 hours north from manc would get you to the lakes and just alittle more would get you to southern scotland to the Ae 4x4 club and their forest, they allready run a weekender saturday is red runs around twiglees,, i think this year(i didnt go as was working) and sunday is the black routes, so bottomless peat, trees, the usual forest delights, unfortunatly its just been, but it might be workable into a series, google ae4x4 they have a pretty good website, see what they think
  22. I'd say there is enough, im part north lakes and we travel some distance already to events id say there'd be plenty of our club that would be interested
