  1. In 2006 the D2 did about 35,000 miles but in 2007 it did 60,000miles but in 2008 it only did about 8,000 that the joy of construction I suppose.. this year will only be about 20,000 miles My toys don't realy do much the freelander racer only did 2003,04,05,06 put together about 2,500 miles all competertive. The Dakar I didn't even manage 1,000 miles The LSE was about 1,500 miles in a year
  2. Thanks guys Thats close enough The one I was looking for was on the forum about 18months ago and worked between metric and impirial as well but I couldn't find it in the forum archive
  3. I've done a few search's but I can't find it, there was a website that got posted can anyone remember it that works out the defiance sizes stuff like that I can do the calcs but the visual demonstration was very good I used it for working out the best tyre without affecting the gearing on my D2
  4. I have am ARB winch bumper on my D2 I replaced the original bumper about two years ago and the main thing I found was I needed to use all my patients as its just time consuming with all the wheel arch plastic bits, fog light wiring and breather pipes and belly shields and shed loads of wd40 .
  5. I was waiting for your to see it. its had a few new pannels and wings doors etc... it still starts on the button every time
  6. Moglite's got one he was very happy with it apart from the engine gave out but other wise he still has his and seems happy with it.
  7. I think it’s around £200 ish My mate and Wife need to do it.....we have had quotes for a bit less but not much its in a Freelander towing a little box trailer. I only notice after my wife renewed her licence to her married name that she had been towing the 22' caravan to LR shows, in her freelander illegally opps! I was normally towing the car trailer as well...
  8. I have done it to three different Defenders from 2.5d to 4.2 Auto V8s... If I can so it without making anything, anyone can. The only complicated bit is welding RRC engine mounts to the chassis as far as I'm conserned. Every single part you need can be bought off the shelf all you need to do is think about it I normaly can do all of it from the Def and the RRC. The Defender 90 with a 4sp auto and a BW transfer box uses a 300tdi rear prop and a Classic front from the donor car. If you fit the LT95 use the original front prop and the same 300tdi rear. PM me if you have any questions
  9. I have a S11 project I'm thinking of selling its totally un-butchered series it's freshly painted Marine Blue has all straight panels some new and new doors and door tops basically it looks very good and original from the outside. Its a hard top with side windows Inside is tidy but not perfect but I have not touched it since I got it. I have never touched the chassis or drive chain the 2.25 petrol always starts on the key every time. It had a Full MOT when I started fiddling with it two years ago but has been out side on Tarmac drive. To look at you wouldn't know its not road legal but having said that it only need a Mot and free Tax. What would people think its worth as I simply don't have time to finish the rolling restoration.... I was thinking around £6-700 ish or am I way off the mark
  10. It looks like it was a nice 110 before all the extra ally was rivited to it.
  11. I've sold loads on Ebay and from time to time this happens I sold the same 205GTI three times... before it was eventually collected IMHO looking at what house he has and what car he drives is just a bit shallow
  12. Yes it is like Slab but I think a little more challenging because the sand is softer. just to let people know the entrance can be tricky if your in anything other than a 4x4 I'm not saying they can't get in just its a little tricky depending on wheather
  13. I have managed to get permission from the Mod to allow Unimogs to attend our events on there land as long as there members obviously
  14. I'm fitting a 2.8td to a 110 but I'm not using the auto its comming with as I was told on other forums that the Auto is not realy up to it so I going to us the 5sp V8 box up against the new engine. not I deal but I have a 40k manual which will be strough enough but a auto which is iffy so I'm going for the safe bet of a manual (although I don't really want a manual)
  15. A lot of the early EFI conversion used the 2.0 moteago efi pumps my first Range Rover had one. My racer has a swirl tanks under the fuel cell in the back and I don't suffer form fuel problems in that. (it had a external pump)
  16. I've used this company a few times now just thought it could be of some use to other members It was Shear's Transport, on 01202 593555 £57 + vat normal pallet collection and delivery £64 + vat (I think it was) for express collection and delivery I've used them before but this time its for a engine and gearbox which I said was a estimate at 200kg and they just said pallets the same price.that was from Boston to Southampton. I couldn't drive there and back the fuel would cost more than that.
  17. I also use the older style brass rad caps on my D2 axles.

  19. A friend of a friend has asked me, if I know and co-drivers that would fancy stepping up, to team up and generally help in a 106 rally in the event. his normal co-driver has had to pull out. the Rally is at the end of Feb. If your interested I will forward your details on.
  20. transfered 6 other v5's at the same time, all the others came back inside 3 weeks oh dear thats not so good. I suppose it was only a matter of time.
  21. Sorry to be a bit silly but is the address change letters arn't they a standard generic one across the board which covers everything like engine, axles, paint etc.. and you could be reading it wrong, Or is is refuring to your car's exact mods, although you have widened it lengthend and and changed the engine and basicly ticking all the boxes
