  1. That will be the front drive then. About the size of 2 cars. Cost is through the roof due to the fact that i often have to pay to have things done that i can do myself but not while the house is on the market as it is not a good look.
  2. Another thank you to all. Sorry to Mr Bolt for the close call Congrats to Gwyn for winning class 2 but i think it was all down to the extra sticker on your door ( i couldn't find a Scottish flag at short notice) Some pics here i hope. I don't bother editing so you take them as found http://s306.photobucket.com/albums/nn250/J...04%20Wern%20Du/
  3. The Disco will be just fine. 100" wheelbase, v8 motor etc, etc, etc. There are to many bling 90's out there and it is nice to be different-all that glitters is not gold. But be warned it WILL end up looking like this. Just noticed that its not like that anymore as i have taken the doors off.
  4. Stop your making me sick!!! Did you see any dents in his door (where he was trying really hard) or has he fixed them
  5. Nobby as you will be aware Gwyn and i have had a standing joke about our winch motors for a long time as i was using xp's and he was using Bows. After burning out an xp that was quite old in all fairness i have now fitted two bows and have been more than happy with them. I even have some money left in the bank. I could talk bull for hours about the merits of both but in short you might as well buy bows. PM sent . Gwyn :Tracey is shocked that you think Rob is any fitter than she is and you are in so much trouble now that you shouldn't turn up at the next event.....therfore i beat you by default.
  6. Gwyn must have put you up to this How long is a piece of string-as you have just stated xp's are silly money right now and are not worth the extra if you are running two (ouch) as Gwyn has guaranteed to do you a stunning deal on two Bowmotors if you mention my name I told him he wouldn't catch me at the last event with those xp's fitted to his car and i believe he has also now gone to bowmotors B) in an attempt to keep up ;)ps thanks to dave ashcroft for the fast turnaround
  7. Only if he finnishes in front of me. Did i mention he finnished BEHIND me sorry wont come up again!
  8. It cant be to bad as ive heard that old bloke Gwyn is turning up again He is flying the flag for Scotland B)
  9. Speak to Andrew from Allisport.
  10. Cardo headsets. Speak to Gwyn as Nobby said..In fact call him today so that he runs out of time to prep his car for this weekend and we can then finnish in front of him!!!!!!! (as some one has thrown down the gauntlet!!!and Rob has stopped eating all the pies)
  11. I have used all the above and found them all to be the same. The trouble with just seeing a rope break is that only the user really knows how abused it is and not the spectator. I now use Marlow Extreme 12mm not the normal stuff and have found this to be the best in terms of strength and life span but i am running out of limbs to pay for it!!! Rob WILL BE seen carrying the new replacement rope over any muddy puddles to stop it getting dirty when i take the plunge and get it back from cash converter
  12. Not if you pull the whole bar through the spokes in your Mach5 wheels. B) I have used two bars for a long time(one spare) and just straighten them with the pipe bender as required. Takes a short time to get them right but they always come good. One is a brittpart and one a sumo and both bend as easy as each other when you are in the wrong place.
  13. Running a bead of weld around the bearing sleeve works very well.
  14. Im sorry ,on reflection that is a bit rude but the point trying to be made is that you will not really be saving a lot of money on the grand scale of things so why not just buy from John Sales or Gwyn Lewis who did mine, both of which im sure would do you a good service. We all love a bargain but its funny how everyone wants to know what to fit for free when you have spent your own time/money finding out what doesn't work. If you have access to a cutter and steel etc as suggested then im sure you will have the ability to work out your own measurements..
  15. Yes thanks I could measure mine as well but i cant be bothered!
  16. Speek to jim and while you are there tell him you want one with the rope loop welded on the motor end!!!!!! as most of the rope bunches on the outer end when doing events because punches are always on the passenger side. Tell him you will not charge him for this top secret information
  17. Yep another one for LRS as he sells them
  18. Not much info to go on but they are slow when cold. The clutch fork punches a hole through on the pivot that causes a few strange faults as it can jump around when first worn but your not giving much away. I guess you havn't got it yet.
  19. Have a look a www.disco3.co.uk as it has a lot more info for d3 models. Nothing wrong with on here mind ,just more model info on d3
  20. Did you get them off Gwyn for that money as he said he would send me a tenner for every time i mentioned Cardo and he owes me 40 quid now Cardo 50 better go he will be on the phone in a minute
  21. Dave, The Cardo system does seem to be the best at the moment but as with all things the technology keeps moving. The range on them is def much better (well out of sight no problem)as is the battery life. We have been using them on peltor ear defenders as they were available at the time but i shall be adding more holes to them as the outside noise was dulled to much.We had no problems at round one and im sure most were using bluetooth there as well so i think there was some other outside interference. If you speak nice to Gwyn Lewis he has a set made up on peltors he may or may not let you try before you buy, depends on how good you sweet talk Oh and you can do coms with outside pairs also but only one at a time ie you have to press a button to switch from one person to the next ,not a three way conversation. Hope that helps.
  22. Thought it was funny aswell but i was far too polite to mention it this morning
  23. I wonder what was going on there then as in the past we have coms over hills in ditches and even when i have driven out of sight of Rob to go round another way but this weekend i could have shouted further????
  24. Get back in your workshop! We need more steering and rope spooling lessons were coming along fine for Rob as he only said its not my rope once this time out but a quick zap on the electric dog collar shut him up! Best thing ive bought off you! Nobby you were on a roll all day when we saw you but it looked like you were having fun.
