  1. On a pc with Franson Gpsgate you can multiplicate your incoming gps signal over multiple virtual com ports. This allows you to run multiple programs at the same time using just one gps receiver. If you want to run Oziexplorer twice you best copy the complete folder c:\oziexplorer to c:\oziexplorer2 and make 2 shortcuts to the different oziexp.exe on your desktop There is no need to duplicate the maps but I put them somewhere outside the default c:\oziexplorer folder
  2. You can start downloading Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and GB, they are complete
  3. Mmm it's far more than 1Tb so we will see where it stops
  4. Currently uploading Norway, Sweden and Finland to Elbekko's space If there is space enough I will add UK and the rest of Europe
  5. If @FridgeFreezer has still space I can put my maps online and post links here
  6. 7Gb and 35Gb. Do you have space where I can upload it? or just send me an usb stick Or 16/2 I am in Heffen and I bring a disk and you copy what you need
  7. For offroad I am using Oziexplorer on a Toughbook CF19 running XP SP3 with an external usb gps (holux or cheap one from Amazon will do). The CF19 is fast enough to run Oziexplorer twice so you can swap between several maps, this is handy in Roumania where I have different maps from the same area but older Russian maps sometimes show tracks that are not anymore on newer maps. Very nice alternative for the Toughbook is the Microsoft Surface Pro as it has a bigger screen with very good resolution so you see more of the map. If you need maps just shout as I have whole Europa mostly in scale 1:25.000 For on the road I use a separate Tomtom or Waze via Iphone on my radio Remark: Oziexplorer just shows you your position, all the rest is up to you. Example Roumenia we make a planning of our trip at home using Google Maps, save this as a route and then we try to follow this as good as possible but never succeeded to follow it 100% but with Ozi you see workarounds
  8. I can buy a recently maintained Bradbury 42/43 that can lift 4000kg but I rent the space I use and am not allowed to drill holes in the floor. Any other way to install it that I can work safe?
  9. No, not in compression and that is my dilemma. It would be mounted feet to the rear and when pulling all forces will go to the 4 bolts. I will try to make a picture
  10. Can I bolt a rear winch directly on the rear cross member rather than in a tray? It implies when winching all forces come directly on the 4 bolts The cross member is made of one piece 6mm folded steel
  11. Relay for lamp second alternator is a good idea as this lamp is not switched if you put contact on so it will be on even if the engine is not running (guess how I know) Carling switches are rated 20 amp but I would always use a relay to switch something heavier Blue Sea makes nice 12 way fuse blocks with earth connections, they also have a version with 2 banks of 6 fuses if you run 2 batteries Tinycad is a nice free tool to make drawings of your scheme's
  12. Evolution of my 110 project in the last 5 years: - one alternator and one battery and a 8274 : not happy - one alternator, a split charger and 2 batteries and a 8274: not happy - two alternators and two batteries and a 8274: not happy - two alternators, an odyssey main battery and a huge second battery and a Goodwinch: still not happy - two alternators, an odyssey main battery and a huge second battery, a hydraulic pto pump and a milemarker and very happy now - now dreaming of a rear hydraulic winch too ...
  13. I have a LOF solid kit with the extreme clutch version installed since a year and no problems until now. Tuned up a lot with big VNT and ditto remap
  14. As my rear salisbury axle is getting more play I was looking for a future replacement and came across the Maer axles (https://www.maer.com.pl/rear-axle-long-nose-land-rover-defender--discovery-i--range-rover-classic,956,3679.html). Advantages as I see it: easier to swap diffs more ground clearance I could use a spare Atom locker I have around Disadvantage: non standard propshaft I assume Am I correct there is no standard propshaft I can use? I guess length is somewhere between a short nose version and a salisbury version
  15. Same conclusion here after a whole evening searching on the web. The gear levers are original but not like the normal MM. These you flip over, the MM you have to turn
  16. @Bowie69 The one on your picture is a Humvee M998?
  17. So got myself another hydraulic winch but unsure if it is a Mile Marker or not. who can help to identify?
  18. So installed the plasma-lock like explained on some videos on youtube but was not really convinced or maybe I did not installed it firm enough on the drum. Next try I made an eye at the end of the rope that I fitted to the drum with a bigger bolt as Daan suggested and together with the plasma-lock this seems to work fine. A positive point of the plasma-lock is that it prevents you from unwinding too much rope from the drum.
  19. ordered the plasma lock yesterday already, will give feedback if it works
  20. The bolt to fix the line is maybe M5 size so for sure not designed to take any load. I was thinking to weld something on like on the Gigglepin drums
  21. So last sunday I could finally test the Milemarker a first time. I had put on the rope before under tension winching myself towards a tree but sunday we tried to pull a tractor away. It started well but when tension became higher, the rope slipped on the drum, even with the first row completely full and it slipped out of the eye I made on the end. The drum is perfectly smooth so not enough friction there I assume. S what to do? Sand the drum? Weld a decent holder on? Or … ?
  22. Where did you put the lever?
  23. It helps indeed, I assume this can pull and push? The roamerdrive is also neat solution, the lever is bolted on the difflock lever but $210 without taxes
