  4. Hi, I have the same Disco as you and have frequently towed heavy twin axle4 trailers to our house in Spain which is 4000ft above sea level, and never had a problem with over heating also towed across the Alps a few times and never had a problem either. Would suspect the oil cooler or pipes are slightly blocked, or at least i hope for you thats what it is cheaper than a new box Regards Keith

  6. Hi All, On my Disco 96 300 tdi it has a fly by wire injector pump, i would like to change it to a standard cable one, main reason easier to get hold of, and easier to tweak (read cheaper). I know people have done it, so basically what do i need other than a pump and a throttle cable. Forgot to add its an Auto Regards Keith

  8. Just changed a 3 wire injector pump from a 98 disco for the the earlier version, single wire to solenoid, using a circuit tester find which of the 3 wires has a live feed when ignition switched on and connect that to the solenoid and presto all is fine, did all of this in a field at billing LR show. egards Keith

  10. Bought a pug 306 for my daily commiute of 66 miles, instead of using the 300tdi Disco, saving a bl--dy fortine in money but hate driving the thing, seriously thinking about retiring earlier than planned and leaving the UK for cheaper and warmer climate (Sri Lanka) where we planned to go anyway. Keith
  11. Split the calipers, Read the article in the Technical Archive, i think by Les. Just done mine on the 110 and Disco not difficult to do just take tour time and keep everything spotlessly clean Regards Keith
  12. Just converted a V8 110 to 300TDI Auto, having spent ages working out various costs decided by far the cheapest was was to buy a complete 300tdi Disco, then at least you get the chance to drive it etc, (drove mine back over 120 miles so it all had a good test). Once i had stripped out what i wanted sold the rest which recouped a fair amount. As is said above not the most difficult job in the world, but not going too be done in a day either. Regards Keith
  13. Absolutely agree with the above not are Britpart known as Sh--part for nothing, on a recent trip to Bosnia a fellow traveller had a Disco 300TDI, that had had all new Britpart U/Js fitted just before leaving, I had to change them all in Germany they had lasted just over 500miles absolutely false economy to fit sh--part. Regards Keith
