  1. Excellent i liked Eastnor but am more than happy with the new choice, was at Bath & West for the LR show a couple of weeks ago. Excellent Off Road Course( makes you think a bit) for those who have not been before. And the pub at the top of the hill is good as well (foods good ). Only downside for us further to travel from Yorkshire, but will raid the kids piggybank and be going Keith
  2. Hi All The roof liner in the 110 CSW is absolutely shot, anyway need to replace it shortly, short of getting a genuine one has anyone got any experience of the La-Salle liners?. And are these the only manufacturers of liners. Regards Keith
  3. Hi All, Oldest son has just picked up a 200tdi, anyway the steering box is totally goosed and its a 6 bolt, as i have a perfectly good spare 4 bolt box can i fit this? i dont see why not but maybe i am missing something. Regards Keith

  5. Been stopped in Germany and the first thing they wanted was the vehicle docs, one of the vehicles with us did not have the origonal V5 and he was fined 200euros on the spot, so carry them. Also if you go out of the EU you will be asked for them at most if not all borders, certainly Bosnia and beyond want them. while i remember if you are in Germany make sure your tyres have M&S on them or you will need to carry snow chains at this time of year Regards Keith
  6. Hi All, Where is the best place to get a set of 300tdi injectors, tested and refurbished if needed? Thanks Keith
  7. Had several ones from allmakes for different LRs over the years never had any problens Regards Keith
  8. I apologise if what i thought was quite funny is upsetting forum members, and yes obliquely it was LR related as the heat shrink was for my 110. So Moderators please remove this thread or whatever its called if you think its unappropriate. Keith
  9. Hi All Went to Maplins yesterday for some Heat Shrink as i have a considerable amount of wiring to sort out, anyway on entering the store I was pounced on by a spotty sales asistant "Can i help you sir" certainly, where is your Heat Shrink?, frown appears on said spotty youths face then he broke into a beaming smile and answered " Don`t think we sell that sir, but i know Tescos does as my mum wraps my sandwiches in it"............................ needless to say i found my own heat shrink Keith
  10. Have you considered the weight? water alone will be 680lb when full Keith
  11. Hi Phil, Regards roof console, personally, space for a radio, at least 1 preferably 2 locking sections room for decent roof lights. Keith
  12. Welcome Phil.......Free beer my goodness thats the price gone up then Was thinking about buying a new cubby box will wait a while, and Phil stop sleeping at night and get the roof console sorted, so we can all have a look . Regards Keith
  13. Having done this twice in the past, the only advice i have is replace all nuts bolts with new applying copper slip etc. You will find more goosed bits than you thought replace those as well more expense but easier in the end. I also fitted new wiring harness with upgraded cables, seperate fuses for everything and i mean everything, and better connections especially earths, also ran extra "spare" wiring for future add-ons. The wiring harness i made myself not a difficult job just take your time. I ran my wiring on the side of the chassiss rails installed in armoured flexible conduit, easier to get at and no damage while off roading. Enjoy your rebuild take your time and dont stint on the parts you need. My 1963 series was re chassied in 1999 with all the above and has never suffered any electrical problems to this day. My 300 tdi auto 110 has also gone the same route. Regards Keith

  16. Hi All, How do i fit two voltmeters on my 110 300tdi, I have two batteries plus slit charge installed (X Eng), and would like to fit a voltmeter for each battery, basically can i do it? and if so how, diagram would also be appreciated, from one of you trickery experts out their. Thanks Keith
  17. I fitted some CVs to a friends Disco from the same company ( I did warn him), and changed them again within 3 months for genuine ones, they were a pile of sh-te very soft sh-te in fact, suspect as Les says they go with the one-shot. Oh and the Disco is on standard tyres, road miles only. Also above said company were not interested in any complaints or refunds etc, Keith
  18. Hi All, HAve just fitted a X9 to the 110, allegedley its a X9 Plus whatever that is, anyway the motor gets hot very quickly, can put my hand on it but its bl--dy hot is this mormal? with an X9 Regards Keith
  19. Hi I have a 110 300tdi auto that i converted myself, no problems during the actual conversion, used a set up out of a disco. I mounted the shifter between the seats on a piece of 6mm alloy. Drives okay though sluggish from a stand but lets face it, its not a bl--dy sports car. i have just aqquired an uprated intercooler so that has to be fitted and the fuel pump tweaked, hopefully that will improve things a little. I fabricated the tunnel for the the location of the hi/lo lever using alloy. The vehicle was origonally a V8 CSW. Regards Keith
  20. Hi All. Need to change the alternator on a 200tdi 110 (defender engine not disco) i have just got, it has a standard 45 amp fitted what else can i fit (bigger), i know its in the search somewhere but bu==ared if i can find it Regards Keith
  21. I Have towed 3.5 ton twin axle trailers all over europe with no problems with a 96 disco with auto-box, must have had an underlying fault already. Towing a 90 around is not working it hard at all. Keith
