  1. look at this ! Has someone been drinking heavily???? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. wright off road stuff is spot on. Had it for 2years now, still looks great, no deterioration, water/oil/sand/dogs & pop don't touch the stuff. Easy to fit / remove. Works well, just not cheap. I'd fit it to another defender I bought anyday. Jas
  3. none now, I sold it. It was a sankey wide track, bought on fleabay for £150, sold 18 month later for £145 after about 40 trips to the tip and various camping trips. They sell easily and no-ones that bothered if theres a hole or two! You can make own if you wish but it'll probably cost more.
  4. £11 for granvilles at the local car shop in washington. Paul - you mention the difflock Evo in your LT77. In what way is it better? I'm due a full fluids change on the 110 and I'm interested in this stuff..... Jas
  5. I only know MMGemini (Mike) Been here near Newcastle (tyne) I don't bump into many of you that much Jas
  6. ^^^^ he has a point. Don't know the area, but with a few bales of hay you could have a paint ball set up. Not very LR related i know, but i have seen it done at other shows and it gets a lot of "club v club" activity. all good fun (and a money spinner). Sounds good, Its in my diary now. Jas
  7. how much difference will you notice with the new box at motorway speeds? Just interested as a potential mod for mine (same as yours) Jas
  8. It didn't take toyota long http://www.invinciblehilux.co.uk/ Jas
  9. Humphrey................. Blame the wife & kids..... Jas
  10. cheers mate, Thanks for the reply. i know what you mean about good ones, I flew 350 mile to get this one. Couldn't find a tidy 110 county for less than £10k at the time and I only had £5k in my pocket.
  11. cheers Pigster. Thanks for the view. i ask as I never see 110 county's up here.....except the odd TD5 new one up for sale. still got to work out what I want to do really, but sounds like ask for £4k and take it from there.. or just hang on to it, I have the space... Hi Mick. Didn't quite understand your post? I'm guessing you echo Pigsters view??? Cheers Jas
  12. Hi all, Just looking into a few possibilities here with my defender. as family dynamics change (teenagers leave) I find only 4 of us in the 110 these days. As your aware, there not the quickest/quietest ride compared to some alternatives for long distance road work... any i fancy some new toys . So I'm thinking of selling the 110 (don't worry, another landy will be in the picture also). Whats a 1993 200tdi worth? Its a genuine 110 county. recon box, £4000 reciepts in last 4 year, 3 new doors (2 tatty ones), 7 forward facing seats, wright off road sound deadening, carpeted in rear, tinted windows ,waxoyle, new tyres, alloys, mint chassis, new x member, mot Tax etc. To be honest apart from the two doors (rot underneath), and 170,000 mile on the clock (mint engine, just drove 1200mile back from france without a blip) I ain't seen a better one that age.... I was thinking £4250 asking price. ...... is that reasonable or am I clearly delusional???? Jas
  13. Hi I just drove back from Agde in the South of france to Newcastle in north UK. And yes it was hot wasn't it. I have a wright off road matting system and noticed very little leat at all inside the cab floors to be honest. as for the roof rack, I just lift it off with my wife....which usually involves a scratch of course Jas
  14. http://www.dieselveg.com/ and http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=37902 Like I say, not read it or looked into it all yet, but thought it may be of interest for some of you.... Jas
  15. just put my 110 csw in and its non-compliant........not that I'm losing too much sleep here in a fields outside Newcastle upon Tyne to be fair. its a real pi553s all this taxation carp. why not try making a choice for people instead of just persecuting them. Jas
  16. colways are cool. Got A/T's on the 110. done 10k on them (nearly 4k in the last 2 weeks in Pyrenees). Better than range masters (no surprise) and not too dissimilar to the Trac edge in use on roads, but better than them in the mud. Spot on for roads & lanes. No problem in the wet on tarmac either ....unlike some remoulds. Jas
  17. I choose remoulds for the 110. Performance cars get performance tyres, but the 110 does 65/70mph on a straight flat road ....and a lot less if its neither and if its off road then I'd rather cough up for a £50 remould than a £90 Micheline if I slash it with a rock. Thats just my choice though. Considering where you are in the world, I think I'd stick with a BFG as a decent remould is possibly harder to come by? I live near Durham where Colway remoulds are made, so its easy for me. Jas
  18. I got the stuff from paddocks and it was all fine. My rebuild is on the web page where you can see the quality old swivel I removed! Hear its: I used grease, but if I was off road in puddles all day long, I'd definately use oil. Jas
  19. Bloody nightmare… I had a crash on the way to work today. I rear-ended someone at the traffic lights. So the bloke got out of his car and he was a dwarf ! ! He said “ I’m not happy…” I said “ Which one are you then ?” sorry....couldn't resist it.. seriously though its a common thing, may last 4 cars have all had someone drive into them, then bugger off without leaving a note or anything. Jas
  20. mine did this and I traced it to the alternator. Sprayed a bit wd40 on it when it was running and it went away....no ide what it was!
  21. exactly what happened on my mates disco at 60mph. his quote was "I thought the car was going to take off!" I bet he did...
  22. as luke notes, check your engine earth. I fried a choke cable on a mini several years ago by not reconnecting the earth cable. Jas
  23. Right then .....thats easy sorted.. buy several scrapiron stickers and apply to 110. don't wash it...ensure it looks carp (kick the new door panels in to enhance effect). Remove the cylinder head and clamp the axle breathers. Find a good quality-non-pikey-road (in France....) with a better looking 110 than mine parked on it. Park next to nice looking 110 and adhere all four tyres of my (now wrecker of a defender) to said road. Apply pedal lock, immobiliser and remove steering wheel. relax in the safe knowledge that my car will be there when I return.
  24. yup a real shame actually. I'd love a local specialist. I spend a lot on the 110.....via paddocks now! Jas
  25. no look at "carp local specialist" on my webby. Could have been very nasty with a car full of kids. Jas
