  1. Thanks Ralph, I think dedicated wiring is probably the way to go, was just wondering whether it was going to be worthwhile locating the factory wiring and using that through relays for the front screen.
  2. I have done some searches but no joy. My friend has a 97 300tdi pick up. It has a heated windscreen switch to the right of the steering wheel, which when switched on lights the heated screen symbol on the dash panel. The vehicle obviously doesn't have any heated screens currently and he therefore plans to use this switch to control the front heated windscreen rather than purchase a rather expensive loom. We guess that the switch and wiring was fitting when the vehicle was built but we don’t know how much of the loom is there, if it includes a timer, if there is already a space in the fuse box the switch runs to and so on. Is there anyone that has retrofitted a front heated windscreen and use this existing wiring as he wants to or can provide any info on the wiring that we should expect to find?
  3. Looks like a proprietary connector to me Les, you will probably have to make your own extension.
  4. I have one of these on my 110. Straight replacement and dual tone air horns. Pretty loud too!
  5. Hopefully these will be a good seller for land rover as with the new co2 targets that are being set by the eu there will be penalties for companies making gas guzzlers. A 120g co2 vehicle is a step in the right direction in allowing them to also produce some thirsty motors. 2wd is a key point in the low emissions and I imagine the majority will sold without 4wd.
  6. Not long unless you have a problem or have just run it our of fuel
  7. A 2001 will presumably be a TD5 which is a timing chain which is generally ok for the life of the engine.
  8. I have had this before. Seems to come and go. Next time it happens I am going to try changing the MAF again. Ben
  9. The Tax man lets you claim 40p a mile in your own car which is what we get at work, its been the same for at least the last 10 years and isnt very generous in my opionion as fuel has increased by about 50% in the same time. Most companies will define how much you can claim.
  10. I hope to be there. Last year was a laugh. Ben
  11. Slight thread hijack but I want to change my Mach 5's for ideally a 16" Alloy wheel with a similar offset to the Mach 5's. They also need to be weight rated for use on a 110. Does such a thing exist? Ben
  12. Pictures from the day here... in 720P HD too if you change the setting!
  13. Without any boxes the TD5 is a bit on the loud side. . Swapping the middle box for a straight through pipe is a bit less volume and going to be a lot more tollerable on the motorway.
  14. I knackered my Sonim badged JCB phone in the first 12 months, so bought an iPhone and have had that for 18 months now and its still pristine, just buy a couple of cases to suit every occasion. I am going to buy one of those cases Chris linked I think to complete my set. Ben
  15. I have booked mine in to the local 4x4 place for them to have a look as I Cant live with it as it is. Will update the thread when its fixed, even if that means a new 110 Ben
  16. Sounds like you have a flat battery now I had this on my 90 once on a cold night when I had parked with the fuel pump facing the prevailing wind so I put it down to that. Once the temperature rose it started on the key. Ben
  17. My 04 110 has exactly the same problem on the passenger door and it only happens when its cold. If I open the door and slam it sometimes it wont even catch at all. The lock all looks fines but I think I am going to get the lot changed. Ben
  18. By popular demand.... Shame they were only taken with my crappy iphone camera. There was a guy from Live taking photos though with a proper camera, you should maybe investigate the whereabouts of those. Ben
  19. I dont even need to "camp" in a 4 star hotel for this show its so close to home If any help is needed I am sure I can assist. Going to bring my dad along on one day as I have been promising to take him to a show for something like 10 years. Ben
  20. When I was pricing up a set of KM2's which I still havent managed to get the cheapest place was Devon 4x4. ATS are worth a call as they do price matching and as they are owned by Michelin who own the BF Goodrich Brand they tend to be pretty competitive. 4site4x4 are also pretty good and have a lot of local agents. Bare in mind that if you buy via mail order you will have to pay someone to fit and balance them which could be £10-£15 a tyre. Ben
  21. Good luck getting them, I have been trying to get a set for weeks. The price doesnt seem to be so bad. Around £110 to £120+vat for 255/85/16 and 285/75/16 If you are still wanting KM's then might be worth trying ATS, I ordered a set of 285/75/16 KM2's from them and after waiting 10 days got a set of old KM's much to my disgust and when I spoke to the guy in ATS they were still showing stock in most sizes. Supply for all tyres seems to be a bit hit and miss at the moment, I am told Coopers are mostly on backorder too. Ben
  22. I ended up with quite a lot of pictures of you and Nick.
  23. I get this on my 110 but never used to get it on my 90. I thought it was due to the cat but I got that removed a couple months back and its still the same. There must be something that can be done to reduce it. Ben
  24. If they are launching them in Europe it would be safe to assume they will be E-Marked although as some have said a Dot marked tyre for the US market appears to be ok for use in the EU. I think the crazy prices for BFG's is largely to do with both the weakness of the pound and lack of supply. Ben
  25. I was talking to a 4site4x4 agent the other day and the range of 4x4 tyres available at the moment seemed pretty carp especially in some sizes. They had nothing listed in 255/85/16 for example BF Goodrich MT KM's seem to be in very short supply in particular so maybe this is some indication of the KM2's being offically sold here soon. I have been holding out on buying tyres until I get can get a set of KM's but if they take much longer in launching them I will have to buy something else. Ben
