  1. we've sold loads of the new km2's..the only thing i don't like about them is the price.....and i own the bloody place! kl 71's allllll day long
  2. i bought mine from lr salvage, they advertise on ebay. depends on how much of a td5 you need really.
  3. what a system! QUALITY!! and as for the roads........... as for your original question with some careful trimming you can remove enough of the bulkhead to allow more room up front.
  4. ooooh bait! wait for it.............................. iva, sva, ivf, asbo, pcp, police on route
  5. seems reasonable fuel consumption anyway. is bio diesel graded? just because it runs the disco doesn't mean that it will return better mpg.
  6. pump and lines to and from the pump from the 90. lines to engine from 110 donor when i changed the rear filter i took an age to fire, tried the priming sequence 10 times???? foot flat seem to do the trick. as an aside we've gone from west australia to west wales at the mo! women eh........ so back in the fold in my disco auto....love it
  7. never had a starting problem Si.......though it is a landrover! the rear filter was supplied with the chassis so could be an issue. have you tried a little fuel/easy start down the inlet with your foot flat down?
  8. the inlet manifold are bigger....alot! on a 24v engine as the have variable inlet tracks to boost torque. same size block/head within mm's anyway
  9. MOT'd! clean as a whistle.....emmisions were 1.3....allowed 3! plenty of welding to be done on sills but hay! it's a disco so all in cost so far of £650. i'm happy with that.
  10. chains and giudes are dear....£200 ish, 12 x everything in the heads so vavle guides etc x 12! my brother has had 2x vr6's now...pick up an engine from decent, read trusted, breakers for £300 so IMO no! 24V engines fetch alot more. lovely sound
  11. get it painted then fill the cavities with waxoil
  12. the vr6 was designed as a diesel thats the reason for the blocks strength. 15 deg V and a common heads for the block. 12v head then much improved 24v heads on later vw/audi V6 24v. same as R32 ( 3.2L) engine and R36 (3.6L) got one myself, 2.8L 204 hp, 24v 4 motion ( haldex 4wd)
  13. does it smoke heavily untill on boost? my 200 had this problem with excessive smoke, v slow to pick up untill on boost. was the timing, as the bottom pulley had distroyed the woodruff key. not sure whats with a 300 but if the cam belt needs doing anyway, then worth a look
  14. GOOD news! bought all the parts from lrseries came to £130 delivered inc cambelt kit, new damper pulley, cam belt crank pulley, woodruff keys etc there was a bit of the old key stuck in the crank which came out with a drift. glued the new key in as instructed, thanks Les. all new parts on and she fire first turn! no smoke, no squeaky rattle (was the damper flopping about) All in all a good result and well worth trying if your having similar probs to this. MOT on monday.
  15. been trialling for years so no big surprise but that hole was deep! not sure what my arms are doing, not allowed to hand your elbow out on a tria just incase you hve a roll. can't find my finest moment caght on camera, had the 90 balnced on 1 wheel for what felt like an age! decided to sell the after that and get one with a cage!
  16. thanks Les, did do a search about it as it ain't worth a new crank! araldite works for me.Shame cause at 180k t's in quite good shape!
  17. hang on, in the pic does item no. 7 have the sleev section that the key sits in? i need the part that goes on the crank as the part i have is damaged. this bit http://www.lrseries.com/resources/user/42da085c7cd817c5d78b1570784c58aa0b8af773/ERR751-VIBRATION-DAMPER-200TDI.jpg guess thats 7?

  21. ok had a bottle of cleaner, fresh go go juice and a service....oil/filter/air filter. had the injectors out and tested @ tom days in Keynsham. 180 bar intead of 200 but spray patterns ok and not leaks. all back together. better....but not right? any online guides on injection timing? tom day guys sugested lift pump? on boost she drives fine. when ticking over if you boot it it almost misfires before getting on to boost with a cloud of white smoke then it's ok again. you assistance is required and apreciated!
