  1. IR They seem to last longest at work Got a 1 1/2" drive CP which isn't as strong as our 1" IR...just so damn heavy G
  2. I flipped some 8 spokes today in order to try and get some more steering lock. It was embarressing with 14" wide boggers But they're a bit too far out now i think.... will have a test on sunday. G
  3. Cheers for the post will.... i'm sure i read the first part twice lol Having looked at the hubs closer (i started the thread when i was away from home), i agree...it's not easy to "just" add a high steer arm. A rough idea we came up with is to weld higher up on the hub a new arm coming outwards. At the same time as bring braces down each side for added support. Do the same on both hubs (utilising a LHD) so you can add the brace down the side. Yes i realise a vertical brace is not a lot of help for horizontal forces, but every little bit helps With regards to tre's, i've got a double ended ram so will run rosejoints on either end and get rid of the standard LR steering link that sits behind the axle. I don't wish to spend a lot on this, just merely testing ideas for when i build the next one using my portals. G P.S. welding will be done by a mate who's got parts in the A380 and tig's all day long for a job Edit : made a small typo about a parts name
  4. Dan - drop me a message on facebook please Got to be 15" as thats the rims he's got. I fitted 37's to mine today G
  5. LOL...i made a typo. then editted it out I agree the 14mm will be tighter but when you don't manage to get it onto the nut properly that one time and spin the other side with a windy gun (flat out, cos thats the only speed guns work ) you now have a round nut - doh. G
  6. ignore this.... please delete

  15. It's registered as 1980. It has a split screen, old style doors, a 3.5v8 on SU carbs....hardly a new truck ? Why is it not a 90 ? G Edit : according to wikipedia, 90's came into production in 1983ish. So i see your point of view with regards to registration date.
  16. I run greenstuff pads and ebc fancy discs on my 4.6 p38. They're appauling when you first set off, but once they get heat in them they are amazing. However it isn't a small bus and i'm normally pretty heavy I wouldn't use them on a 300. G
  17. If i were you, i'd also remove the other head...and send both for pressure testing / skimming.
  18. With or without dust seals John ? p.s. did you get my pm ?
  19. Hello, Been looking through the wilwood catalogue at calipers and a lot of them don't have dust seals. Does anybody run these on a competition truck ??? Or are they just a disaster when used in mud ? They do some sexy 6 pots which would suit me just fine Gordon

  21. Screwfix are good for things like that. Yes, you probably have to buy 50 of them...but they'll be cheaper than buying 10 at a local place. G
