  1. Chris, I bought from the European rep earlier this year. Very good service If you're after boggers, they had bugger all in stock a few months ago and weren't expecting any in for a while. G
  2. Thats where the idea was from I've got a set for the engine now. Dan - i don't plan on doing that again in a rush need a new windscreen glass now !
  3. Nige - so a bit like a jag mounts
  4. Evening, Due to a roll yesterday we managed to break both engine mounts and the n/s gearbox mount. They were just the normal landrover rubber type. I'm wondering what the best option for stopping this happen next time ? Are the qt mounts the way to go or what are recomendations ? Cheers Gordon
  5. the reason it didn't start was the auto gearstick cable had stretched / budged slightly (broke 3 engine/gearbox rubber mountsm - so the engine moved) meaning the inhibit switch was misalinged
  6. Thanks for a great day And thanks for the help for pulling us out of stage 20 after we landed on our roof See you all next year Gordon
  7. Well....i'm unsure as to which is stronger but i've gone for the Kam stuff. Got rear shafts, front shafts and cv's. What i can comment on is the excellant service i got They managed to have the patience with me over the phone as i was measuring up my rear axle to find out what length shafts i needed etc - cheers steve. Goods were ordered the Tuesday and delivered at 9am Wednesday morning Very well packed i must add. So now i'm skint but hopefully won't break anything this weekend at slindon. Cheers Gordon
  8. I thought you ran a swirl pot in your fuel system ? or is that someone else i'm thinking of I've got one on mine and not had a problem yet {touches wood}. G
  9. The 24 spline shafts won't fit through your stub axles either (10 spline stub axles have a smaller inside diameter). You're best off getting a 24 spline axle to put the diff into. G
  10. I'm referring to if you were to use it offroad. On the road you'll probably be ok. But it's the new weakest link if you know what i mean. G
  11. You'll then break shafts, unless you upgrade them.... which in the end (shafts + diff) will cost more than the cost of a salisbury. G
  12. My p38 is suffering from a dodgy battery at the moment and it's not doing this ?
  13. Neil - are the night stages part of sunday's scores, or is it a seperate little event ? Cheers G
  14. Agree with above However, when using fans the blades are shaped (concave or convex) to either suck or blow - and there is a big difference in performance if you spin them the wrong way. G
  15. I've got a tmax twin pump that fills an air tank (about 10 litres). What pressure do you guys run your t max's up to ? at the moment mine is off at 100psi (ish) and back on at 90. I've got a little regulator to drop the pressure for the arb's and winches G
  16. Morning, So it looks like i should run Ashcroft on the N/S and Kam on the O/S Gordon
  17. My booking is in. Now to find a thicker sleeping bag !!!!
  18. Can someone explain the easiest way to setup the overcentre valve...as i had a quite a sudden drop down a vertical hill last weekend oops. G
  19. the length doesn't increase by 2" though
  20. Dave & Nige - thanks for your replies... I'll do some more research when i'm back and see what i can do Cheers Gordon
  21. Wasn't sure about stub axles (hence the reason for the thread). Re: 24 spline axle - i do have an lse's axle i can use the ends from. Re: downtime - it's currently sat on axle stands with no innards and i'm out the country but would like to do slindon in 10 days time.
  22. Just out of interest, how is the site ? water, rock, bog, mud, forest etc ? G
  23. Hello, Ok...in my last two outings (challenges) i've broken a front half shaft each time I'm running standard 10 spline stuff with an arb, from what i think is an earlier defender axle (thin drive flanges, railko bush). So...my portals aren't gonna be able to fit this truck meaning i've got to make it stronger to carry on with. I've got a spare 24 spline arb locker which can go in.... and i'll have to buy front half shafts and CV's. I'm assuming i can fit them to my "10 spline" hubs ? or are they different to 24 spline hubs ? If worse comes to worse i've got an lse front axle that had abs which i could also use. Who would you suggest i go for ? The prices seem to work out about the same (however, ashcroft don't appear to have shafts in stock according to their site - but i've not called yet). Cheers Gordon
  24. Does anybody have a contact number for Matt ? Cheers Gordon
