Mean Green
Has anyone successfully replumbed the fuel tank on a 200tdi 90 to fit newer style wings with the fuel filler at the rear rather than at the drivers door? Where do you run the filler pipes?
Eightpot
Rear mounted fillers are for rear mounted tanks. Short of running a pipe between the wheel & spring, it's not going to work.
Retroanaconda
I’ve got the opposite problem and was going to try and solve it by removing the old wing skin and buying a Td5 one, which will put my filler in the right place for a rear tank. Mo Murphy
Why not cut the front filler neck out of an old 90 tub or skin, clean it up and rivet into place on the new skin. It wouldn't look out of place. I considered this when thinking about adding a second tank under the seat. In the end I decided a second battery box was more useful so it never came to fruition. landroversforever
I’ve seen it done with a welded pipe following the inside of the wheelarch.
cackshifter
I have it the opposite way round, with the filler in the 300tdi position, and a Puma/TD5 rear tank. The filler pipe runs back to the tank. It is one of those stopgaps that has persisted; the problem is if you park on a steep slope downwards (or in the OP's case upwards) with a fullish tank the fuel goes up the filler pipe and leaks out of the cap. YRM do the cutouts for a filler, both new and old.
