92a
Not sure why your’s was round the other way ? but if you’re pushing out original bushes you can push the centre metal sleeve and rubber bit out then cut the “outer” sleeve to weaken it and collapse it inwards ( don’t cut into or damage the panhard rod )
Snagger
It’ll be obvious when you fit it; that bend is specially to clear the diff pan, so is on the vehicle’s right side and bows toward the bumper. I’m not sure if left hand drive vehicle have that bow in the rod.
Retroanaconda
It’s left hand drive vehicles that need the bend in the rod, on a right hand drive that side of the rod is on the chassis bracket which is further forwards but on a left hand drive that side is on the axle bracket further aft and right close to the diff, so the bend is needed to clear it. That’s why on the later 2002-on rods the RHD version is a straight tube but the LHD still has the bend. It’s just that on earlier models they only had one common part, so on RHD the bend is superfluous.

Yep so that does make sense for the blue arrow on pic is the side that goes nearest diff
western
blue arrow side goes in front of the diff housing, so the rod moves away then back in to avoid the diff.

With a press you will need a something that is exactly the OD of the bush so that the outer sleeve is pushed out with the rest of the bush, as one piece. It is quite thin and even hard to see. I haven't access to a press so reverted to a common method to hacksaw from the middle, through the tube, then the rubber and finally the outer sleeve. All done.. used hole saw through rubber then just had to “carefully “ hacksaw outer sleeve til I could break it free. No damage to rod so all good. just checking.. is 88nm sound correct for putting back on? Thanks again fellas.. another job out the way
Peaklander
Done in six minutes or maybe you'd already figured it out 🤣. Can't confirm the torque but google confirms this, from the LandRover Workshop site - which I would trust. https://www.lrworkshop.com/torque-specifications-settings/land-rover-defender-1996 Edit: don't know why the page isn't being previewed in that link Edited August 1, 2021 by Peaklander
