Expected life of a Simex tire...?

Assuming someone here has already gone past the 1st set,

how long did they last?

30'000Km.?

More?

Less?

I travelled roughly 400 Kms. in the weekend (offroading included)...

:(

Just wonder how long before I have to assault a bank to buy another set...

Thanks Jules.

I have a set of ATs for most of the time,

and I'm used to carry the "other" kind in the back

and change once arrived.

Sadly there's not always the chance to do it or a safe place

to store them,or other people rant about the loss of time

as they have to wait and bla bla bla...<_<

Uhm,now a mile is roughly 0.5 Km.?

[OUCH!]

Et or JT's???

JT seem to last pretty well on the road..........ET's just wear silly quick!

Jon

ET II,in dwarf 32" size compared to the 35" you gang are allowed to run.

But I recently found out they scratch the wheelboxes...doh!

My 32" ETs did not wear much when running to and from events for 6 months at 35 PSI.

One weekend at 25 PSI running between sites (20 miles or so) caused more wear than the last 1,000 miles.

So now I always pump them up nicely for the road. ( makes them quieter too. )

Hello,

Have worn out three or four sets of ET's and have never managed much more than between 7000/9000 miles

But i do sell them before they are totally shot.

Chris (one of me blokes) uses ET's daliy and has had a problem with one cracking round all the large lugs ( Very nasty) His front are now almost bald with only 8000miles on them

However the rears are still in good order.

A friend of mine who does pretty much the same stuff as me changes is wheels between events and has only done a couple f hundred miles n the road. His tyres still have a huge amount of thread but irroniclly he will be changing themsoon because of side wall damage and lugs that have been ripped ff.

He has had them approx 2.5 years?

So it would seem that you caught between a rock and a hard place which ever way yu go.

Hope this has not wrecked yer day

All the best

Jim :)

Well FWIW I've done some 17,000 miles on mine now.

Fronts are now showing serious signs of wear and cracking round the lugs but should be ok for another 5,000 or so.

The rears look much better, maybe only half worn.

Good Trevor!

Does anyone offer more?

:D

My view is if I replace the fronts next year I'll have a couple of half decent spares to replace my spacesaver with. Get the pressures right though as its easy to just cut out the centre.

Not sure what milage you do Michele but I only do about 5000 a year in the 90 (the Disco is my mile eater) so I can live quite happily with the wear rate. Having trouble with the noise though

We are in the region of 9'000/10'000 Kms/year,depending on how many events/outings are around.

The Cube usually sleeps all the week (I go to work by train) and I crank the engine in the weekend

for some workout.

Tacho is 89'000 Kms now,being a 1997 MY I hope she'll stay with me for a life...or two...
