Ryan
The slipping alt belt had flattened the battery so DiscoRyan had to jump-start me - big thanks to Ryan who has been a source of tools and supplies all weekend (myself having left most of my gear at home for this "easy jaunt up the motorway" ) You're most welcome Mr Fridge, glad I could help. big thanks to the ShireLRC crew for helping me out, even if they did take the p*** non-stop (I expect nothing else from them by now ). Again, your welcome For those of you who didn't see them, here is break down number 1: Breakdown number 2 (about 5 mins further down the road): Breakdown number 3 (after being towed onto Crystal Palace): And finally breakdown number 4 on the front at Brighton: In anticipation of the thanks for posting these images, you're most welcome... Blippie
it overheated again about a mile from crystal palace and I had the joyous fortune of being towed into the campsite oh how great to be towed past about 200 other LR owners Luckily you had the forethought to PREWARN the campsite by broadcasting over the CB ... "I'm boiling again!" We just had to sit back, with a cool beer, and wait to see what got dragged in! Who needs TV? (Mind you, it was 200 other LR owners who were thinking ... "there but for the grace of God go I") Cheers Blippie

FridgeFreezer
It's actually an attempt to get at the plumbing from the inlet manifold with one of those old fashioned distributors in the way (I haven't fitted the stubby one yet), if we'd known it was a stuck stat at this point I could've driven into Crystal Palace I find sitting on the plenum is one of the more convenient positions for working on the engine without a stepladder
