wkw90
I have a self leveling unit on the back axel can i just take it off or would i need to get a a frame that did not have one ?
BogMonster
Fitted on what? You can take it off but the springs fitted with the Boge unit on 110s are definitely softer, so the ride height will be a bit low unless you fit the standard springs. Not sure about Range Rovers if it is a RR.

tacr2man
the springs would have probably been quite a good match as rrc heavier than 90 rear anyway
Shackleton
As BM says you may need to uprate the springs. My uncles Boge unit is toast, he assumed the car was sitting low because of knackered springs so had them replaced. Didn't make any difference... wkw90
Yep looking to lift the motor so springs will be changed at some point , just wanted to know if it was ok to do . ie safe and legal Thanks Paul
Orange
It is both safe and legal and the Boge won't work properly once you've fitted a lift anyway, so might as well bin it...

bill van snorkle
Always reckoned the Boge equipped rigs worked better offroad than vehicles fitted with heavier main springs and no Boge. Bill.

I would be surprised if anyone would disagree with you on that point Bill. I would also be surprised however if many Boge units are still functioning at this stage! True Bish, but the Boge unit can be reasonably easily replacedwith a coil spring or air bag by those that want to retain well balanced articulation. Bill. BogMonster
Always reckoned the Boge equipped rigs worked better offroad than vehicles fitted with heavier main springs and no Boge.Bill. Dad has a UK spec 110SW from the mid 80s which had a Boge unit and the soft springs on the back and to this day I still reckon it is the most comfortable vehicle I have ever been in over rough ground.
