I have a Karcher one which came from one of the big DIY stores (forget which one) for about £100, which I am pleased with - but I also have an old Draper one which was cheaper and to be honest is just as good and has lasted for years despite being dropped so many times it has a lot of plastic missing!

I bought one out here in France, I think its called a Techinc and made in Belgium. I paid €29 for it about 2 years ago and it squirts out water about 130psi which I though was quite good for a cheapy ands its been very effective on the car and the house. Unfortunately the hose between the unit and the lance has split (which was nice) so now I'm not sure whether I can replace the hose on its own.

A mate used to have one which was attached to a petrol engine-driven pump unit and that thing just about took lumps out of concrete - I can't remember the name of it though it may have been an Hitachi.

Worth knowing.... the Karcher hobby washers (under £300 pound type) have a small bore pipe with strange bayonet fittings which cannot be repaired if you kink it and it splits. At £50 plus for a new hose its very near as cheap to buy a new washer (which I always think is a crime in todays society!). If you can get something with a professional lance they use standard hydraulic fittings and you can get a hose knocked up from a local hydraulic specialist in the event of you needing one. It won't cost any more than a Karcher one and will last forever!

keep an eye on aldi they have them from time to time - they look like karcher and IIRC they were about £70

Ive got one and its quite good...especially with 3 year warranty!

aldiwasher

I got one of these a few months ago. Seems powerful enough and does a grand job of cleaning the trucks. Comes with a swappable lances - a brush, high pressure and Hi/low(soap) .
