kkk2
I use wurth ones, pricey but really good. I have tried a good few brands but find these the best value for money.
RichardAllen
Don't get the thin discs from Machine Mart. They last on average about 10 seconds. I'll second that. They are called Plasma. The guy at my local Machinemart indicated that I was not the only customer who did not think much of them
Bowie69
When desperate, I am finding the ones from Mole Valley pretty good, if a little pricey, but they are sold singly -I suspect you could get a bulk discount from them if you asked. They're 'Hermes' ones I believe, and are £1.03+VAT each

bullfrog4x4
I use a local supplier . he stocks Phonix ones. branded as slitting discs. 50p each and last ages had one shatter when i dropped the grinder a couple of years ago leaving a large hole in my leg (the disc shattered when it hit my shin bone) other than that great, good on stainless and most else really. not so god for grinding but not designed for it so cant moan. OilIT
Ill second the aldi ones + if you get the pack they include a stone grinding disc - whcih all other companies say isnt available in the smaller disk size. I used two of them to grind off evostick on a concrete floor in a 7x4 metres room - sp I think they last well as well !!! (admitedly probably not a lot of good on your average landrover unless you find that one with the concrete filled crossmember )
Guest weeble
Do you not all think some of these failures are down to abuse?. Perhaps people are putting too much pressure on them when cutting. I was always told to use a little pressure to guide the disc when cutting but not to force it as putting too much presssure on them would cause them to shatter. I have had the occasional one shatter when the material i was cutting "pinched" the disc. Personally I feel most failures are down to operater abuse. Also many of these grinders/cutters are put on shelves when not in use and it only takes something to be put on the disc to fracture it. They are designed to cut not to have impacts on the side. They are ALL thin and will all suffer damage if abused.
Les Henson
I do a lot of welding and cutting sheet steel, etc. Ford Escorts are almost my bread and butter I've used MachineMart cutting discs in the past and have been very happy with them, which is why I bought another 25. After one of them bursting for no apparent reason (I do know how to load an angle grinder ), I have thrown the rest away. Think I might splash out on Makita or similar this time - a disc bursting is a wee bit scary, and the second time it has happened to me. Les. bishbosh
Well, I have ordered from right Lines again. The decision was based on the fact that I am happy with their performance and they are extremely competitive on price. Thanks all for your input though. alex milton-haynes
I've used some that have disintegrated and had I not been wearing goggles it could've been messy. I wasn't doing any extreme cutting with them either. can't remember the make, I'll go and have a look

Hybrid_From_Hell
Well, I've a "Bit of Feedback" about rightlines for the forumeers I had just about run out of flap discs and thin cutting discs, so I read this thread with interest and then placed an order in the christmas to new year break on line, quite a value order @ around £80 as I had 3 x packs / different grades of Flap wheels and 3x tins of thin cutting discs, all for a 4.25" grinder etc.... The phone rang today : Basically 'Rightlines', ............saying : "got your order, but we thought we would check as everything you ordered was for a 115 x 22.2 grionder except 1 order for 100mm - just thought we would check that you hadn't made a mistake ? " F Yes I had, and wow that is service I'll be using them again, inc the fact that the 115s cost slightly more than the 100s, but he said "Don't worry about it" F Makes a change doesn't it ?
