Snagger
OK, once all the heckling has stopped, can anyone please tell me where you can buy these kits? One of the mats on the kit I bought from Scrapiron Racing tore a contact, and the repair was only successful on one of the two elements. Now that they have gone bust, I can't find anyone who sells heated mirror kits for Defenders.

David Sparkes
.... can anyone please tell me where you can buy these kits? .... I can't find anyone who sells heated mirror kits for Defenders. There's a guy from Poland been selling kits on eBay for some time. I recall reading positive comments about his stuff, but I can't recall which Forum. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEATED-MIRROR-IN-YOUR-LAND-ROVER-NOW-YOU-CAN-HAVE-IT_W0QQitemZ130335697865QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1e589cebc9 HTH
Litch
Just pop down you local commercial motor-factors (all towns have at least one) where you can buy universal ones which are simply cut to size & stuck on to the rear of the glass. I have the larger heads on my 90 and the commercial heater elements were still more than large enough yet only cost a few £ each.

Snagger
Guys, thank you very much. I'll have a look at the local auto electrical supplier (Bedford Battery) first, as I just need to replace one mat, but if they can't supply something suitable, I'll get one of yours, Errol - it's the same type of pad that I already have and they're very effective; I don't think those pads on ebay have enough element density to warm up sufficiently. Simon119
I have just fitted the 2 pads i got from the Polish guy on Ebay. Have only been on a couple of days but seem to be working fine. He also sells them individually so if you only need one that might be good for you. HTH Simon
Litch
Snagger I hadn't noticed you were in Bedford, so am I. Bedford Battery should sell them but if not I got mine from a place in Bletchley (the name escapes me at the moment). They were a stock item and picked them up while I was passing.
