Hi Dave

If selling this I would seriously consider selling it through Simon at Devon 4x4. He always seems to get a good price when selling chellenge spec 90's with as good as spec as yours. Worth a call to him anyway even if you only get good price guidance.

A little panel damage I'm surprised with your super careful winch biatch!! ;););););)

Cheers

Steve

bit hard to say, i'd go with that advice and try asking devon 4x4....

you probably would get more if you sold it as a V8 90, and sold the toys off separate... :(

if you don't fancy that, (and don't forget Simon Buck is a busness man ,and will need to make some money from the sale) i'd go for a glossy add in one of the comics, (LRO has a posh page) big it up a bit and stick a fairly high price on it.... that way you could always accept a sensible offer...

you might get one of those Scorpion-racing chequebook-off-roader types tripping over his chequebook trying to get to you!!! ;)

What's brought this on, Dave. Building something new? I know you were talking about this a little while ago....

IMHO, you should get about £12k for your truck, probably more. Its been well built and looked after so you shouldn't have huge problems selling it. I'd agree that Simon is probably someone good to sell it; for the ammount you'll pay in comission you'll deffinatly get back due to the exposure it'll get.

Blimey Dave your not hanging up yer boots are you ? and getting a Mondeo...

I am thinking about it Les. Thinking of a change of lifestyle at the moment. and I have just changed the Winnibago for this New Toy. We are seriosly considering taking off for 12 to 18 months maybe longer and just need to rationalise on the toy front.

It is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it

I would say between £10-15k but if someone will pay that is a different matter I should imagine it owes you much more.

Yes you are right there Jules I dread to think how much I have spent on it. But if I thought I could get £10k back for it I would be more than pleased and any more than that I would put it into Grahams for a full body makeover

Dave, I guess you'll want to come back to challenging when you get back so it might be worth taking the axles, tyres and winches and putting them into storage and selling a smart 90 auto with roll cage, strage lockers etc. You should get £5k for that easily plus it means you've got the basis for an Ibex when you get back. That way you'll get some capital and you won't end up throwing your money away when you get back.

Will,

after doing that at the end of the day it’s a B reg V8 90 PU  …… with a roll cage ………. I just don’t think it would make 5K …………… more like 2.5K to 3K

Dave,

I would keep it exactly as you have it now and go for the specialist market …… providing time is not an issue. OK …… the market is much smaller, but you are dealing with folk who appreciate the worth of the goodies, however, I will be very surprised if it makes more than 8k / 9K tops ………… everybody always wants something for nothing. Just my 2p worth.

The other option is to break it and ebay it all as component parts.......... but that has a certain element of risk and is a lot of work in both the stripping and logistics...... plus the time management overhead of eblag.

Hope it all works out OK ……… and the best of luck with your adventures in the new toy ……… lucky sod. :P

Hi Ian,

Breaking it and selling it on Ebay isnt something I want to do. I think your valuation is probably realistic. I am in no great hurry so I will probably get all the panel work done so it looks the part again and then put it on the market for about £8900 and see what happens.

My main pension kicks in in another 9 months so I can afford to be a bit casual about it. We are lucky enough to have no big ties any more so we could take off for a couple of years without to many problems.

I would rather sell the 90 before we went than try to mothball it. Unfortunantly I would need to empty the toy box not because we would need the money as much as we dont have the storage space. ;)

I'll store it for you Dave, no charge 'cos it's you :D I'll even give it a run every now and then, can't say fairer than that :P

Travelling sounds fun, I'm starting to think about what I'm doing once I finish here now and a round the world sort of trip is starting to look quite tempting....

Puts getting a job off for a bit longer anyway :D

Richard,

I am overwhelmed by your generosity. :D

Let me think about it for a moment

Ahemm

Ok

I have thought about it Sorreeee :) :) :)

Travelling is fun, Getting a job not so much so,

15 years ago after selling my busines I decided on a career change to see me through the next 20 years or so untill retirement proper. I approached a commercial flying school about converting my PPL into a commercial licence at my expense. I knew I would never get a job with any of the big carriers but thought I might get something as a second officer with a small cargo outfit.

I was politely told to come back when I was 20 years younger I am still waiting before re applying :)

So the moral is takethe chance and go round the world and worry about the job later.

Dave
