stuck
Gent's, Received my Sumo bars today (Excellent service from Mr Lewis) & I'm trying to get them on tonight. Unlike the original bars the nuts that lock the TRE into the tapers aren't castellated and the TRE's aren't drilled to accept split pins. Does anyone know the torque setting that should be used? Thanks, Mick.
western
are they nyloc nuts then ? if not castelated & able to be split pinned. I just do them up tight 5 white knuckles should be sufficient. LR RAVE manual says ball joints steering 40Nm
HoSS
Forgive my ignorance but wtf is a sumo bar? ....other than a drinking establishment for over-weight japanese men... Edit: ok yes found them at the bottom of the google page, below the aforementioned drinking establisments

landroversforever
Just use the Nylocs . Mine came with nylocs I'm sure. I do them to one grunt, with the 19mm spanner
Dads Toy
Just put mine on but then found the track rod protector (that bolts into the diff casing) won't fit. The gap is big enough for the bar but when it's bolted on it's too high for the bar to go in. I've left it off at the moment and aim to either get a better guard or get a large spacer made. ejparrott
Why does everyone use nylocs? Whats wrong with a castle nut and split pin? I through the TRE nylocs away and drill a hole for a split pin on mine.

landroversforever
Because times move on. A nyloc is just as good as a castle nut and split pin, if not better as its quicker! Nothing wrong with a nyloc, and unless you've been a chimp they are no harder to undo.
