Just some advice on oil leaks for the mot

Sorry if I identify diff pinion wrongly, it is the bit the drive shaft connects to the diff.

If this weeps will it fail?

In fact what is the situation with oil leaks.

I heard the regulations have changed.

Thank you all as usual

Ed

On February 13th my 90 got an advisory "004 Offside front tractor joint has slight leak", by which they meant the front OS swivel seal. If your pinion seal is weeping then I would say you are fine, if there is oil everywhere then less so, and if it drips on the tester then God help you!

They are quite easy to change...

Thanks for the helpful advice

I am hoping a wipe will get me through

I should of done it when the weather was nice

I am not overly confident as my engine is fairly dirty all over

And I think there is a drip on the bell housing too

I'll get under there and wipe away all drips and hope for the best

Thanks again

Ed
