Orgasmic Farmer Posted October 1, 2012 Share Posted October 1, 2012 Thought i would share a few images of our recent Alpine tour. 3 Land Rover 110s......... 300tdi, TD5 and Puma derivatives. 6 persons Total miles covered 3000 Accommodation... combination of wild camping and official campsites. Countries visited. France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Monaco Weather. Couple of rain storms on transit but otherwise warm and sunny. Cool nights when camping at altitude Problems. Nothing major. 1 Inverted anti roll bar and 2 chipped windscreens MPG. Anywhere between 22mpg (Puma in the mountains) and 30mpg (300tdi on gentle motorway day). Mid July to end of August is holiday period there so the routes tend to be either over run with enduro bikes, walkers or mountain bikers while others are closed to motorised traffic over that period altogether. Hence we left it until beginning of September. Even then there were signs of the first snows. It is a bit of a lottery! Reluctant to give out routes on an open forum. Sam from Taunton, I think he is a member here but not certain of his username, turned out to have a fortnight off between jobs.
