Aye, would you be prepared to share a route outline? I was thinking of doing something similar next April/May depending on weather and other things.....

Much of the route would be impassible before end of June-mid July due to snow. Mid July to end of August is holiday period there so the routes tend to be either over run with enduro bikes, walkers or mountain bikers while others are closed to motorised traffic over that period altogether. Hence we left it until beginning of September. Even then there were signs of the first snows. It is a bit of a lottery!

Reluctant to give out routes on an open forum. PM me if you like and i will give you some pointers.

Regards

Mark

Wow!!

What awesome scenery! Great pictures too.

This really makes me want to go on a trip like this. Maybe next year, depending on family situations and available suitable vehicles...

Did Chris find a passenger in the end?

Did Chris find a passenger in the end?

I did, right at the last possible minute - well, 36 hours before the off! Sam from Taunton, I think he is a member here but not certain of his username, turned out to have a fortnight off between jobs.

He did not bring me tea in the mornings like a decent co-driver but he did make (most!) tolls a little easier! :P
