LandyManLuke
Searching for 'tachometer' in the Business, Office & Industrial category gives these results http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Business-Office-Industrial-/12576/i.html?_sac=1&_from=R40&_nkw=tachometer
TSD
Do you have to fix a reflective strip to the object for it to work? Or would a white mark do? As long as the surface is dark and non reflective, a line of white paint/Tippex usually works fine.
CwazyWabbit
Cheers for that
gazelle
You found the instructions for me, thankyou :-) Let's hope HoSS has access to the necessary 'reference tachometer'. Although it doesn't meet the display criteria requested in this case, the Tiny-Tach may be suitable as a reference tachometer, although if that is all that is required, searching for 'optical tachometer' on ebay will produce more cost effective possibilities. Tiny-Tach Diesel instructions here. Cheers. I like the look of the Tiny Tach as a cheaper way to implement a tacho than any other I have found so far. Good find! Martin I'm also impressed with the Tiny-Tach. Is there any feedback on these for Land Rover motors? Todd.

HoSS
Its going a little off topic here, as my original post was regarding a classic look gauge. And i left something out - it needs to be 60mm or 2 3/8", this is why i was having a problem. The VDOs are 2 1/16 (52mm)
