Nigelw
Did LR make alloys for any of the Camel trophy vehicles at all? Seen these advertised on the www. http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/auto-onderdelen/land-rover-onderdelen/m759571185-5x165-1-bbs-camel-trophy-velgen-met-goede-banden-defender-16.html?c=a2384ef0ece270f44503df9f8598c624&previousPage=lr Anyone shed some light on whether they could be genuine? western
AFAIK those were never fitted to any Land Rover Camel Trophy vehicle, only used genuine LR steel or alloys.
miketomcat
Never seen them in any of the videos believe me I'll seen most yes I am that sad. Mike
Soren Frimodt
Have seen something similar here in Denmark. Would think its an old marketing scheme from back in the day. Probably something extra you could get for your Rangie or Disco or whatever. I'd think they are quite rare, if that sort of thing rocks your boat
Nigelw
They look more like "wideboy" zuke vitara rims TBH Looking for something concrete as to whether they were genuine part though as may be collectible????
western
definitly not genuine LR wheels, those alloys have BBS on them.
tacr2man
Never on a defender !
Nigelw
A rumor on another forum says that the Camel Trophy also had the first generation KIA trucks as contenders as the competition trucks, not sure about that though but the rimms would fit a jap motor better than a Fender and day! Pollywog
Can't be Land Rover as the stud pattern is all wrong. http://m.olx.pt/jante-especial-15-original-bbs-camel-trophy-land-rover-discovery-defender-range-rover-classic-iid-435431244 http://forums.offipalsta.com/showthread.php?t=88083

Pollywog
Obviously they made them in several stud patterns. Just found this: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3362835/1993-land-rover-defender-90/photo-gallery/
miketomcat
There is a slim chance they were something to do with the last Honda sponsored camel trophy but I doubt that as iirc they still used land rover for most of the support trucks and the ribs were built Hampshire. GW8IZR
No proof here either way but one of the benefits of scanners and vinyl printing is anyone can make perfect replicas of logos. One of the disadvantages of scanners and vinyl printing is that anyone can make perfect replicas etc....... Also as per above, why show six stud wheels when selling five stud? On a subjective point, I reckon they would look pretty carp on a Defender. Edit - just looking at the pictures in the link above, without the centre cap they don't look too bad I suppose but still prefer a more traditional look ( yep boring here )
