dailysleaze
Does anyone know if you can buy the nut and washer for the wiper spindles separately? DKU500010 is the complete assembly.
ballcock
Try your local scrap yard they are probably the same on numerous vehicles especially old Leyland stock.

landroversforever
Are you sure they're not a standard thread? If so, just buy some stainless half nuts and washers.
western
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/category/wiper-systems-and-parts/ might be able to help.
dailysleaze
I haven't checked the thread to be honest. Cheers for the tip offs need4speed if you do that would be ideal!

landroversforever
Well you're welcome to the nuts off mine? I'll be making some stainless ones for mine anyway.
dailysleaze
Thanks to need4speed for donating me his washers I tried to get the thread gauge on the spindle, but the way mine is, the wipers would have to come off to get an accurate measurement. It seemed to be around M8/M10 x 1mm, which would make it a fine thread. TBC Thanks also landroversforever, I may also go for stainless nuts as well after your lead
landroversforever
Well I'll not be at the wipers stage for a loooooooong time yet!

western
just thought there maybe suitable nuts there for those who don't have any other options.
dailysleaze
After 3.5 years i'm bringing this back up as i've got a separate genuine wheelbox that I measured and it was too hard whilst still on the car... OD of the thread is 15.4mm. 0.9mm on the thread gauge is too small but 1mm is too large. I don't have an imperial thread gauge. Any clues anyone can suggest about what the thread might be? dailysleaze
So to wrap up my monologue, the nut is equivalent to 17H8769 from a Mini and other British classics. They're not identical as they come in chrome, but meh 🤷♂️. They're eight sided which makes them quite unique and I hadn't noticed before. Genuine on the left, Mini on the right
mickeyw
Sounds like it would be about 26 TPI then, which is very a fine pitch for the diameter. I had been going to suggest 5/8" UNF until I read the pitch. UNF for that diameter would be 18 TPI. Well whaddya know.... turns out 5/8 " x 26 TPI is British Standard Cycle thread or British Standard Brass (different thread angles on these two).... old as houses.....and Landrovers... https://britishfasteners.com/threads/bsb.html Can get stainless ones here. http://www.stainlessautomotivefastenings.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4301
