snailracer
I'm currently doing up my house and want to be able to get sheet materials/long pieces etc but the 109 is limited for bigger stuff. Ideally I want something big enough to get 8x4 sheets on. Anyone have any recommendations on what is the best thing to fit for the job? Cheers Matt
Snagger
Brownchurch. It'll be cheaper than the aluminium racks, has side guards that will prevent sheets sliding off and looks period; the ali racks only suit Defenders.
snailracer
Cheers. Theyre still a bit spendy for me at present. I might have to look at bars instead. Lots of sites say stuff only fits defenders but surely the fitting is the same on both series and defender. Are they just covering their asses or am I missing something? Retroanaconda
I got a set of Thule bars for my 90, most useful for moving bits about. Visible here: Not sure if they would fit a Series roof, but I can try them on my 88" for you if you like?
snailracer
If you could that would be very helpful. I'm sure the gutters are the same but the last thing i want is to get some and it not be right.
Pollywog
Defender roof bars will fit a Series roof, I have a pair of Halfords bars for mine you can pick up second hand sets on eBay for about £25. If you're moving 8x4' sheets it may pay to fix some batten between the bars to support the centre of the sheets.

MattMatt
I have a rack for the Series 88 just like the one in Snagger's link (e192) )but I don't use it now. The sides mean it great for sheets and stuff - Didn't realize they were so costly The do come up for sale on various sites
Snagger
If you think they're costly, then look at the prices of the aluminium racks like Hannibal! Try putting out wanted ads for second hand racks. Be wary of plastic coated rather than galvanised; they rot badly.
Glue
If you're looking for a second hand brownchurch rack I have a 3/4 length rack (from a 110) available. More details on request.
LiamC
I have a galvanised rack on my 110 which I think is a brownchurch. It's was great for 8x4 sheets, rolls of carpet, kayaks, bicycles etc. I will be putting it on eBay when I get a chance as it just doesn't get used these days. Hoping to get £100 for it.
