Maverik
Hi folks, can anyone recommend me a set of jump cables, looking for some nice heavy duty cable. I was just about to make a set up, but then I started search the fleebay and there are heaps of sets of cables a fair bit cheaper than me buying the cable in myself... the only problem is I can't work out what's good and what's trash... Anyone had any good experiences of a set, I want something pretty beefy, ~35mm^2 ~240Amp Cheers Mav
Bowie69
Almost all the stuff you can buy anywhere are complete rubbish. If it were me, I would carry on making my own!
BogMonster
I have a set of Maypole 35mmsq cables, they don't sell direct to end users but if you can find a stockist then they are fairly decent and all their stuff is very well priced. The only problem with the fully insulated clips is that the covers on the clips can get knocked off easily if you are rough with them. A cheap set of jump leads from any supplier is worth every penny. You get what you pay for
western
IIRC this set I bought years ago http://www.furneauxriddall.com/cgi-bin/sh000004.pl?WD=jump%20cables&PN=25mm-Jump-Leads-JL620%2ehtml#SID=461 they also do this set http://www.furneauxriddall.com/cgi-bin/sh000004.pl?WD=jump%20cables&PN=50mm-Jump-Leads-JL626%2ehtml#SID=461 only thing is the plastic covers on the ends drop off, otherwise these leads have been great. Boris113
I have set from Halfords and they have been great. 35mm2, 4.5m long and £35. They are nice and flexible also. http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/jump-leads/halfords-35mm-booster-cables Seem to recall they worked out significantly cheaper than any of the local ag suppliers or HGV places a couple of years ago.
