  1. Hi BogMonster, You are correct. The brake and clutch do share the same resevoir. Re Bleeding of clutch (or brakes) I have never had a problem on any of the vehicles I've bled using the Gunson EzeBleed. Works off the pressure of a tyre and is continually forcing fresh fluid through the system till the bleed screw is closed. Only about £18. Griff
  2. Yes there should be 2 connections by the scuttle. One for each "half" of the screen Griff
  3. Might the new pads need time to bed in? Griff
  4. Hi Saar, I've got the TD5 D2 and the bags fail on these all the time. Best way to check is put in offroad mode to fully inflate and then go over the whole system with soapy water and listening for leaks in the bags and pipes where they rub on the metal parts. Also, as suggested above, in cold weather the intake filter can freeze if it gets wet. Sorry I can't be more specific as I don't know the D3s that well. Griff
  5. Hi & welcome, I know that the D2s are very fussy about keeping the battery charged. If you are going away a lot it may be worth getting the type of battery charger that can be left connected and provide monitoring/charge when needed. I use an Optimate for my m/cycle. I suspect the tag number is just the key number i.e. if you want to get another cut. The code imobiliser key code can be obtained from Landrover unless you have access to someone with Nanocom etc to read the relevent control unit. Griff
  6. Hi Petrolhead, According to Haynes there are 2 relays in the passanger compartment fuse box. R1 for Left & R2 for right side. Are both sides slow? If so then either both are u/s or the fault lies elswhere. Older single flasher units did rely on "warming up" to work but I doubt this applies to modern vehicles. Have you checked the fuse box for water contamination? Griff
  7. I'd go for the air filter first. Griff
  8. Hi Mike, I always use the Gunson Easybleed which works off the spare wheel. Cost about £20 and I've never had a problem bleeding brakes/clutches on any vehicle I've worked on. I believe the main reason for its success is that it provides a constant flow of fluid whilst the bleed screw is open so there is no way air can get back into the system. Landroversforever's post means do you have the bleed screw on top to allow the air out. If you are still having trouble then the master cylinder may be worn and letting air in. HTH, Griff
  9. Hi Shane, Is there any sign of oil comming out of the brake drum? If so then the transfere box oil seal has gone and that's why it's not holding. Brake shoes are contaminated. HTH, Griff
  10. Hi SparkyMike, Have a look at this site http://www.thed2boysclub.co.uk/forums/. Specificaly for D2s and loads of buying advice etc. Had mine for 2 yrs moving up from 200tdi and love it Griff

    Wont Run

Hi, Did you purge the air out it when the pump was replaced? There is also an air bleed valve fitting ,I believe, on the fuel filter. Griff
  12. The fan is a viscous type that works in relation to how hot it gets. I would suspect the thermostate is stuck open and therefore not keeping the engine warm. Does it take longer to heat up than before? Griff
  13. Hi James, Re the injector open circuit codes, do you have a missfire now or have you replaced the loom? If loom replaced (& no missfiring occuring ) they are old codes and can be deleted . Re-checking after a run should not show them up. HTH I'm just learning to use this piece of kit myself. PM me if you require further info. Griff
  14. Hi TD, It sounds like it's the actual piston siezing as you've freed up the slide pins (assuming they're not bent/damaged) Griff
  15. Hi TD, Usually if you get pressure back by "pumping" the pedal it's air in the system and needs bleeding. Are you loosing clutch fluid? If so check master & slave cyliders for dampness. Check also for fluid draining out of the clutch belhousing indicating the slave has gone. Regards, Griff
  16. On my 04 (w/out cruise control ) the switch is on the bottom of the master cylinder at the rear of the round disc HTH Griff
  17. Hi, Good write up and always helps with pics. One important thing to do is disconect the battery before replacing the ride height sensor. This stops the possibility of loosing the settings and the need to get it re-programmed. Regards, Griff
  18. Hi Hangman, I think you'll find that if you replace the BCU you will have to get it "programmed" with one diagnostic tool or another. Someone with more knowlwdge will be along soon. Griff
  19. Fully agree with BogMonster. Had exactly the same on mine (04 TD5). Only occured when got up to temp and even when I checked the continuity of the wiring on the old one is was ok - no apparent breaks in wires Regards & Happy New Year, Griff
  20. Are the abs sensors seated back in properly? Griff
  21. I've got the facelift model (2004) and the sensors were not fitted as standard. Griff
  22. Hi RDW, When you say the fans on all the time - are you looking at it when the vehicle is stationary? Is it not a viscous fan which will be spinning at low revs.If it's free to spin by hand when the engine is OFF then it is. The 3 amigos is usually to do with the ABS sensor or wheel bearing. A search on "3 amigos" will give you more info. Regards, Griff
  23. Hi, Agree with the WD40 but my old 200tdi did the same thing and turned out to be the clevis pin having worked loose having lost its retaining clip. You'll see if it's this whilst your underneath with your can of WD40 Regards
  24. Had a similar thing a few years ago on my old 200tdi. Turned out to be a duff oilseal. Regards
