  1. Another vote for the on in the link. I've had no problems with my one.
  2. What about a trailer fog light? Light the landy one suggested earlier it's a self contained unit so just plug and play. There are loads to choose from, sure you'll find one that you like the look of. First one i came accross on google HTH
  3. Thanks for replies gents I asked my local garage if it could be switched off by the ECU and they didn't seem to think it could. Now i have an idea of what setting it should be ill take it back and get them to plug it in. Will also give the door switches another clean incase it is a current problem. Cheers Simon
  4. Evening All, am after some advice. The interior light on my TD5 90 doesn't work when i open the doors. The Light works, it comes on when switched on manually. The door switches work and are clean, alarm goes off and when plugged into computer the ground when released. I've looked at the wiring diagram and it apears the light is controlled by the 10as box, my electriciky skills aren't too bad but playing with the likes of the 10as scares me!! Had a brainwave earlier, was wondering about running another earth from the light straight to the door switch. Would this work or would it interfear with the alarm having something else grounded on the same switch?? Any ideas on how to check 10as box, any other known places for wiring to fail in the circuit, and finally, any thoughts on my idea of running another wire greatly appreciated. TIA Simon
  5. Don't know the part numbers but i have 2 covers for the single inward facing seats availible if your interested. Brought a set of 4 but only needed 2. Can take pics when i get home if your interested. Mods, if this isn't appropriate in this area of the forum please feel free to delete Simon
  6. Found this last night a thought i might be of use to people on here I have just started using MM and PC Navigator on my netbook when out and about in the landy. The problem i had was that i could only use the GPS dongle i've got with either or program as the GPS comes in through a com port. This software creates virtual com ports, you tell it what com port the GPS is coming in through and then add as many virtual com ports as you want. Then set the different programs to look for the virtual com ports and hey presto, 1 GPS dongle working on multiple programs. Hopefully the link works, i'm sure those of you know about torrents will be able to get hold of it that way, or you can buy it from the site. My link Hope some of you find this useful Simon P.S. Mods i had a search for this topic but couldn't find anything, if it's been covered before please merge with original thread or whatever you see fit.
  7. Where about in herts are you?? I don't know the part number but had the same problem and ended up buying a bag of 10. Your welcome to one if you want it Simon
  8. I can highly recomend the vango hurrricane range, either the 200 or the 300. I'm the quatermaster for my local scout group and we have 6 of each. They don't take long to put up, you can leave the inner and outer attached so no crawling about on hands and knees in the dark trying to find the little fixings. The 200 will comftably sleep 2 adults (300, 3 adults) and there is a decent size porch to leave wet muddy gear in. The scouts haven't managed to break one yet and i've lost count of how many times they have been out which is saying something for their build quality!! Not the cheapest tent available but well worth the money in my opinion, if well looked after will last you a lifetime. TENT HTH Simon
  9. I got one of these from these guys, very useful and accomodating to talk to. I went for the hand held one as it means i can use it outside of my landy if needed. CB Link As for a mount i got a gutter mount and put it just behind the light bar on my truck cab. Never had any problems with my setup, i'm sure it's not the best out there but it does me just fine. HTH Simon
  10. I fitted one of these kits over a year ago now and had no problems with it. Got it second hand of everyone's favourite auction site! LINK HTH Simon
  11. Hi Do you know if it is possible to do this to a pre 02 TD5??? Cheers Simon
  12. I have Halfrauds own brand washer fluid in the landy, says it's freezing temp is -15. Haven't had it freeze on me yet. LINK Simon
  13. Hi all I have a favour to ask, i've just got MM working on my notebook for use when laning in Landy. Being just after christmas i'm a bit relulctant to pay £50 for maps when i only need a small area in comparison to what i would get on the disk. The maps i'm after are os25 explorer 207 to 212, 192 to 197, 181 to 184 and 172 to 176. If anyone can help it will be much appreciated Thanks in advance Simon
  14. Sounds daft but have you checked the earth lug is making a good contact to the bodywork, had the same problem on mine a while back and it was actually the lug's connection to the bodywork that was faulty not the ecu connection to the lug. New bolt sorted the problem and has now been fine for over a year. HTH Simon
  15. Hi I had a similar problem a year or so back. Turned out to be the earth in the ECU compartment (apparently there is a bolt/stud on the bottom of the compartment thet the ECU earths too). Friendly local dealer had had the problem before, apparently all he did was fit a new earthing bolt as the old one was very corroded. No problems since. HTH Simon
  16. Latest update, All seems to be working really well, every morning after the drive to work i have had ice on the outside of the back section and condensation on the inside and ice on the outside of the front section. Had only done the back section in polysterine! Unitl now that is!!! As for the PVA, i'm using builders strength stuff, also from wickes, PVA Link. It says suitable for use on metal on the tub, hpefully it doesn't start peeling off, will keep you all updated. But SO FAR SO GOOD
  17. SiWhite I only fitted it this evening but shouldn't take long to find out if it's stopping the condensation. Will keep you updated
  18. Having just converted my truck cab to a van i couldn't believe how much colder it was!!! Something had to be done and this is what i decided upon. Having read the stories of sagging headlinings i wanted to try and stop some of the condensation aswell. I wanted to use something that would be close fitting to the roof so as not to leave any gaps for condensation to form in (hopefully). I found THIS, i started fitting it this evening and all went well. I'm sticking it on with PVA, it's cheap and doesn't melt the polystyrene. The polystyrene veneer is only 2mm thick so easily follows the curve of the roof and is very easy to cut with a sharp knife (needs to be very sharp to avoid tearing). I've used 3 layers, should provide enough insulation to keep it a bit warmer, hopefully stop condensation and leave enough clearance for me to fit my headlining without any cutting etc. Hopefully the pics work and you can see what sort of finish it gives etc. The last pic is of a join in the material, they are hardly visable if you were using it without a headlining and were worried about asthetics. Hopefully someone finds this useful/interesting Simon[
  19. Afternoon all I'm about to convert my TD5 90 Truck cab to a van. I'm just wondering if there are any tricks i should know about or any particular problems to expect. Any info anyone can offer would be much appreciated. Cheers Simon
  20. Afternoon all I'm about to convert my truck cab TD5 90 to a van. I'm after the part numbers for the seals etc i'm going to need and if possible an exploded parts diagram of all the seals and fixings so i can check i have everything before taking my truck cab off. The base vehicle is an x reg TD5 90 and the doner roof is smooth with the interior light behind the front seats. The rear door is one with the screw in strips for retaining the glass if that makes any difference. Hope someone can help Regards Simon
  21. I have just fitted the 2 pads i got from the Polish guy on Ebay. Have only been on a couple of days but seem to be working fine. He also sells them individually so if you only need one that might be good for you. HTH Simon
