  1. It would be nice to have a big log burner like you guys have to shove a big log or 3 to watch burn or not have to re-fill every now and then like we do
  2. Ok it's been nearly 3/4 of a year in and with autumn just around the corner I decided on fitting an adjustable vent on the opposite wall to where the stove is which is where my bench is as for some reason it's the only place in the garage that wouldn't get warm, so Saturday I got my SDS drill out and cut a hole in the wall and fitted the vent but didn't have time to try it so today I got the stove going and after 1/2 an hour I opened the vent and hey presto it works and the bench area is nice and warm, just need to see how it is once winter kicks in again
  3. Sorry what I meant was is the ball joints for H/D steering rods are longer and thought you have been sent the wrong ball joints hence why the tread count was wrong
  4. I could be wrong but think them ball joints are for H/D steering rods as they are longer with more thread to allow for the lock nut as std's use a clamp
  5. Should be ok, I just used rubber tubing slid over the pipes and cable tied them to the chassis not ideal but it did the job, will check the holes are there in the new 2a chassis next time I'm in the garage as I forgot to check today whilst I was in there
  6. Think I will put the cover and chest on eBay for bids and see what happens
  7. Cheer's Mudmonkey, yeah its getting there slowly but now the 90 is out of the way it should speed up a bit now
  8. Hi guys Does anyone know how much a Defender 200tdi timing cover is worth please I have the cover aswell but its damaged where the power steer pump bracket fits to it but not sure what its worth, anyone got any idea's please
  9. Whilst I was cleaning my log burning stove out ready for winter I decided to get the 2a rolling chassis out and do some better pic's rather than seeing it in the garage all the time
  10. You just have to be carefull with them as they sometimes break whilst pushing them in, are you working with the original chassis or a new galv chassis if using a new galv chassis sometime the holes are not always there at least that was the case with my new galv 90 chassis so had to use a different methered to hold pipes in place where the holes was missing, not got there yet on my new 2a galv chassis but I will let you know when I come to it
  11. Finished off stripping the bulkhead down today and covered it up outside out of the way to give me a bit more room in the garage, I also met Romahomepete and his son as he came to collect the 2a engine I had advertised in the for sale section which was nice to see another forum member as we chatted about our landy's and help out a fellow member in need of a part ( engine ) I didn't need
  12. Dug the bulkhead out and part stripped it yesterday just got a couple more things to get off it then its stripped but mite have chance to p/x it for a new galv one so I will keep it for now
  13. Fitted the new rear parabolic springs yesterday and today I mite dig the old bulkhead out to strip off what I need then scrap it as its too far gone to have repaired / referbed as I am getting a new galv one now
  14. New springs came yesterday so I will fit them next week whilst I am off aswell as have a clear out in the garage
  15. Result, we have sold the 90 as we put it back on ebay for the third time and a guy came down today and made a cash offer vary close to our reserve and drove it away obviously once the money was transferred over, so the 2a is officially mine its a shame the 90 had to go as we had spent a lot of time and money on it but now I can spent more money and time on the 2a now instead but the 90 will be sadly missed but at the same time.
  16. They are G.B.E. 3 leaf ones to match the front 2 leaf ones as I have had them in the past without any problems
  17. Just got round to ordering a new set of rear parabolic springs for the 2a, should be here in the week then I am off for a week the week after so I will fit them then
  18. I have fitted a pair of SP4x4 doors to our 90 they are series doors with series door handles and catches inc as a kit comes with new hinges aswell to fit a Defender and series which I plan to fit on my 2a as they are made better than BP doors
  19. I always thought clutch judder was caused by the clutch plate now being centered properly, years ago I used to set it by eye and sometimes got clutch judder and since then I just wrapped some tape round a deep 5/8ths socket to center it and never had a problem since
  20. Ha I'm 5ft 9 so I should be ok then, no only joking, when I had my last 2a during the rebuild I fitted new std series seats which was ok but I always found myself feeling sat too low then I discovered Def seats which was great and I was thinking of fitting these again but they are just too expensive now either used or new but as I have the 90 with Mazda seats fitted which are just perfect imho and think they would be just as good in a series but I do take on what you said about the screen in a 90 /110 is higher so I will take some measurments first and see if not I will have to do a re-think
