  1. http://www.trailertek.com/acatalog/Adjustable_Couplings.html
  2. Facom & Britool stuff comes in the foam case from new , Shame Snap-on couldnt inherit the idea
  3. Dont know if im missing something here but the maximum towing capacity of the Defender is 3500kgs , So why the need for air braked trailers ?, Over run brakes are fitted up to 3500kg trailers
  4. Quite normal Ben , As long as its not excesive , does the bearing feel smooth when you rotate the input shaft .
  5. With an abundance of 10 spline diffs I would go and get a decent replacement , Pressing the bearings on are the least of your worries , Getting the old ones off can be a right bugger .
  6. They are very good Tony , I have had them for some years now and they are used often and they still grip as when they were new .You can even remove some locking wheel nuts with em .
  7. I have some Irwin reverse twist sockets , Just hammer them on and the more force you use to undo the bolt the tighter they grip . These would be ideal
  8. I find it odd that anyone has had a bad experience with Mr Bowyer, he is a luvly chap and most helpful .
  9. Well DD you could try David Bowyer for your bits
  10. I thought the chap that worked with Phil ran it for a while
  11. Their website seems to of vanished , But you could try ringing them 01579348146
  12. Fit a Nato ring and hitch to truck and trailer , Large nato ring wont fit a 30mm pikey pin tow bar .
  13. Ahh ! The welding dance Nice one Nige , Reminded me to my 16th Birthday , I was given one of those cheapy 130amp Clarke welders , So happily the same evening I was welding away under my Mk 2 escort when a firey little demon decided to jump ship , It went through my Poly overalls , through my trackie bottoms , through my boxers and settled into a fleshey attachment of my groin area , The dance started , I was out from under the car at a rate of knots , The culiprit then exited my boxers and proceeded down my leg into my reeboks , The dance was unusual and I have seen it a few times since .Saw a simular dance out in Aiya Nappa a few years ago ,
  14. I have a couple , used to use them on idler wheels on trencher booms , IIRC I got them from my local engineering supplies .
  15. I think you will find that Gwyns prices are very reasonable and realistic . And its been tried , tested and made properly
  16. Pneumatic fitting into the axle as a breather , 1/8" BSP 90deg swivel elbow with a 6mm pushfit , About £3 from most decent suppliers . The oil problem may be the two seals on the ARB lolipop
  17. They only protrude about 30mm below the axle on the Nearside , you wouldnt even notice it , they also have a built in leading edge to assist in sliding over obstacles .
  18. Im looking to make up a drag link out of spring steel so it is more resistant to bending , but then is it moving the problem elseware ??
  19. Tony , Currently have a cheapy clamp on diff cover ,But its welded on. Works a treat
  20. Wow That great, A Doe made from a pair of lawn mowers
  21. I had a simular affair with my front QT gaurd , Now replaced by a Gwyn Lewis track rod protector and a cheapy clamp on diff gaurd thats now welded in place .The QT gaurds are ideal on the rear as they offer a slide over protection
  22. Yep , thats the one The Gwyn Lewis is faultless in operation , No more bent track bars , The only con against it is that its difficult to change or remove the TRE from the swivel but if you cut the remaining thread from the taper end it will come apart a lot easier
  23. You could try a Hydrostatic CVT ,
  24. I avoid Clarke products widely , They are cheap and nasty, But you get exactly what you pay for . And I think alot of you are missing the point here , Wheels are to be tightend with a torque wrench , Using an impact gun will only either over tighten and stretch the studs or make a great tightening type of noise and they will still be loose .
