I thought this was quite quirky http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MONSTER-TRUCK-LONDON-TAXI-CAB-ON-TOYOTA-HILUX-4x4-RIG-WITH-ROVER-V8-ENGINE-/180970400432?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a22ad2ab0
So "worst day scenario" and it comes in to law how long do we have before we have to scrap all our vehicles?
Will we be offered perhaps a balloon or a goldfish for the scrap like the Rag and Bone man used to give for old mangles?
Sorry to be naive, So the other countries in the EU that already have periodical tests in line with the proposals don’t allow custom cars or kit cars. Is that correct, that all of their cars and bikes are factory standard?
Update: "It was the prop what done it" I fitted a new wide angle rear prop today and all the crash bang wallop of gear changing gone! all the low grumbling as I came off the gas gone! New power steering pump leaking now Oh well still under warranty I suppose

That’s a very good idea we must have a legal in our midst or someone savvy to the ways of the politician who could pen something we could all print and target a campaign.
This is horrific I can’t imagine the effects it would have. Did we fight the oppression of the Jack boot to be cowed by the insidious Brussels thought police? (person I'm not that keen on) and to short circuit the text censor (persons I am not keen on of dubious parentage)
Hi All,
I have a soft top set up for my 90 but the panel above the door has one small plastic hook that holds the "D" ring strap that keeps the front of the hood down is broken anyone replaced one? Or does anyone know who might sell them?
See image for clarification.

I used a 1 ton lift on my 200tdi to do the block and gearbox complete and it was no problem. Get some good strong chain and shackles.
Oh by the way, position the vehicle so you can roll it back from the lifted block and NOT try as I did to pull the engine crane back as it might tip and you could end up wearing it.

Hi All,
A little while back I posted about some noises coming from the rear axle/prop uj it happened when coming off the throttle and sounded like a rumbling nocking sort of noise.
Well I thought that because I have a 2” lift perhaps it was causing the prop to nock given the increased angle. I fitted a 30mm billet spacer to the prop but still the same noise on deceleration.
However whilst fitting the spacer I noticed that the rear axle drive flange (I think it’s called that) had some play as I was able to rotate the flange back and forth about a centimetre but couldn’t detect any lateral play.
Could this be the cause of the noises and if so how do I fix it.
Cheers

Finaly got round to finishing the recovery point, I used 10mm plate for the back plate and 15mm for the spreader plate and bolted straight through with 4x m10, 8.8s
You can get the crimper and cutters quite reasonably but it depends how many times you will use the kit as to wether its worth buying or getting it cut and crimped by someone else
I used 70mm2 welding cable http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1c089a4ccf and heavy crimp terminals to match http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2ebd820e1b
If you dont have a ratchet cutter and heavy duty hydraulic/ratchet crimper you might be better off getting a garage to cut to length and crimp terminals on to your cabes.
Best work out the routing and cable lengths with rope first, it saves wresteling with thick cable and dont forget the cable will not be as flexible as rope of sililar diameter.
