  1. Fantastic event with excelent sections, had a few hairy moments throughout the day but managed to keep the truck on four wheels most of the time. Neil, carole and all the team involved you did a fantastic job and i look forward to round 3. Also thanks to frogisland for the great prizes. I think the punchs were very well set out but as said previously a little hard to understand where the intended route was. Again thank you to all involved for putting on yet another great event. Rob Only because i went the wrong way Next time
  2. Managed to sort login details this morning so will see you all sat morning
  3. Its set at 210bar, my drums are 450mm wide so always pulling on the lower layers which helps. Will your system take any more pressure? Rob
  4. Hi Rich what engine will you be running? 60cc+ is way to big and you wont be able to power it unless you've got some serious hp. On the mitsimog we run a 32cc pump belt driven of the crank geared down 1.7:1. With the saley winch and type R 100cc motor this works very well. The typr R 100cc moter has a max 750rpm, if you were to use a 32cc pump direct driven you could only rev to 2000rpm before reaching the maximum motor rpm. Rob
  5. Im affraid i wont be present nor will the little zuk that seems to follow us everywhere. shame to miss such a brilliant site. Its been a fantastic year and i'd like to say many thanks to everyone involved in making the events happen especially neil and carole. Roll on next year Rob
  6. The saley winch from john sales, fantastic pulling, two speed, drums on bearings and air free-spools a dream
  7. We looked at getting our truck in there, 40ft long 13ft high. We could only see one branch being a problem. Take a ladder and saw in case. might save us taking it down later in the year
  8. An 8" rim would be fine, i run my 19.5 boggers on an 11" rim and previously ran 16.5 pitbulls on a 9" rim.
  9. Chris Both your motors are M&S hydraulics MR100cc Rob
  10. Tom Both front and rear axle casing's are identical, rears are fitted with a spacer instead of a swivel so converting yours would just require a pair of swivels and shafts. Id just use the axles and put them under a lightweight buggy. Keep the pics coming Rob
  11. I can vouch for that, didnt manage to wash the truck off till thursday so had set like concrete. Was a fantastic event and the punchs were excellent. Water was a little deep in places but after sending the bitch in routes were found around 3-4ft deep.
  12. I have four tie bars going very cheap if your interested.
  13. sorry for stealing your thunder The trucks my old mans and has bin in the build process for about 4 years now. The front end is a cut down l/r axle with a 3.54 diff and arb. Custom shafts with outer cv spline wired into mog imput gear. As soon as my trucks completed in a couple of weeks i will be finishing this one for hopefully the end of the year.
  14. I use Edward Howell (wedge group) in willenhall for larger components. They do a very good job, their cost at the moment is £260 per tonne plus a 36.25% zinc surcharge plus a further 3.5% enviromental surcharge. I had 380kg (total weight once galved) done last week which cost £138+vat. So would think it would cost £80-£110 to galv your chassis.
  15. I have a couple of tonne of galvanising done each week, mostly 3mm. The only distortion ive ever had is when the idiot on the forklift runs it over. Are there any signs of damage possibly before being galvanised?
  16. Should be able to add another to the class one list by the end of 2008, photo shows how they will sit in the back of the truck were building to carry these monsters
  17. Add another to the list as i will be joining you in class 1
  18. The winch is the H12 with the type R motor, i used 12mm wall CDS machined down to 6mm at the ends to allow it to slide inside the original tube upto the end plates. I drilled the original tube at 8 points each end, puddle welded through and two main welds in the middle. The shafts we made from scratch. I had alot of trouble drilling the original tube, not sure what grade it is but its very tough.
  19. Hi steve, modified my MM a few months ago. Drum is now twice the width, taller and will hold just over 200ft of 12mm.
  20. Chris, did you drive punch 38, we were first in there and after getting caught up on numerous tree stumps and losing a tire of the bead we lost about an hour
