  1. I only got sunburn and a Allbright clone solenoid pack. But I did sell loads of useful items, and I'm well up on the day I managed to get rid of even more stuff at the dump on the way home. Damn good day - execpt the 70mph light-guard - next time I'll go in front
  2. Cheers Bill, but not necessary. I've got loads already. I just thought it might be a neater solution and a skill learned to rope it all down. But the knots look complicated, and I've got gay blue rope, not nice climbing stuff - it might be a non-starter PS - not the Flemming Arms - Empress of Blandings in Copythorne for the Shires social on Thursday !!
  3. Thats Astro Al's 404 camper conversion. such crafstmanship - it was built like that - not actually crashed
  4. My local place will match paint from a chip or a sample. They will mix it up as transport enamel if thats what you want. So you should have a choice of 100's of purples
  5. Great feedback - thanks. The truckers hitch does look damn complicated. I'll give LandyManLuke's a go though - I might just be able to manange that
  6. He didn't have his punchcard on his door did he ? Or should I say REMOVABLE door We've had that before - funniest thing to see a door off a lightweight being walked around the site
  7. What knot(s) do truckers use to tie their loads down ? I've got a roof-rack of stuff to go to Sodbury ( see kinda back on topic ) and it'd be nice to know how to lash it all down with rope - rather than the multitude of ratchet and cam-lock straps I always seem to use.
  8. Didn't look very hard did ya from the front page of the website..... "New Social Venue Well, after the excitement of having the social meet at 2 different venues in Febuary and March, a vote was taken at the Flemming Arms to see which venue was preferred. The results were announced at the March social. The Empress of Blandings in Copythorne was the winner, 31 votes to 8! We have booked the Empress for the first Thursday of every month for the rest of the year, so hopefully we'll see you there on April 5th."
  9. Leaving a site with a dirty number plate, obsured windows and a broken light or two could nett you enough points to win a bicycle for a year. Not all sites have decent washdown facilities, and there is only so much you can do with a 5L garden sprayer. Just another take on it.
  10. I'll be there clearing junk out of the garage if all goes to plan. As I'll be there in my Isuzu BigHorn - I should stick out like a sore thumb Not got much on the shopping list, an Allbright solenoid, and a dirt cheap ali fairlead for a demountable winch project should do it.
  11. His etch primer uses xylene ISTR, but the gloss - white spirit. Xylene seems to do a good job of thinning Hammerite too
  12. Certainly for the 2nd vehicle, there is a lot of articulation, but the vehicle isn't leveled out like I would hope for. I suspect it needs more work on spring rates and bumpstops. Nice to see another solution though. And LandCruisers Rock
  13. I'm going to tune my 3.1 Isuzu motor when I get chance. Mine is still in an Isuz though Seems there is a fueling screw on the back of the pump which will take up to 1/2 a turn without getting black smoke everywhere. Big front mounted intercooler helps Then you can up the boost 2.5" exhaust system works - but I probably won't do this. I've got boost and EGT gauges to go in first, so I can see what I'm doing.
  14. Movie Maker on Microsoft Windows - thats not IT - thats a toy. I'm currently configuring an Enterprise Linux installation to have multipathed SAN disks using a HP EVA SAN with Emulex HBAs, with the end result of running an Oracle Database that will support a clearing application for a FTSE 100 company. But Linux isn't really my specialist subject, as I'm a Solaris man really. My kids do Microsoft however, but they weren't on-line when I asked about movies - they were at primary school Sorry kinda drifted then - back to Google........
  15. Spooky - cross over and it made the links clicky automatically - wierd
  16. You suck at the internet How about http://www.motorradiators.co.uk/ http://www.nrf.co.uk/ http://www.proalloy.co.uk/ http://www.titan-lite.com/ Can't be bothered to make 'em clicky for you - you need to practice your typing anyway - one day I'll teach you the mysteries of cut'n'paste. I've never dealt with any of them - NRF offer 2500 cores - some in ali.
  17. Pure coincidence that is where all the balance weights are on the rim ? Is the rim actually round ? Also the scores look rusty, wouldn't they be brighter if it was constantly rubbing ?
  18. The Hippos have the edge on beauty..........
  19. Glad to be of service Where is the smiley for "Takes a bow" ? Jez - not sure about the 405 - I've never seen yours - I've seen the dirt and groo that surrounds it, but I'm not sure I've ever seen the car underneath
  20. I was thinking of the SM, although if that doesn't bear fruit. The DS came before it, and the CX was more mainstream, followed by the XM. Anything newer is just bland french tat.
  21. I don't think its there - because of the Citroen system I think its in construction and use which post-dates the Citroen system Andy
  22. Ali My old BFG muds were 255/85x16 - so a 33" tyre 265/75x16's are about 31.5" tall, but obviously 10mm wider Andy
  23. I'm aiming for about 3pm on-site - just to chose an area for the maxi-trial Weather is uummmmm interesting Glad I'm not camping there tonight - -4C - yeooowwww
