  1. Greece has a Land Rover club or at least it did The Chairman/president was/is a guy called Pantelis Giamarellos, thats from a few years ago when I was involved in Camels. Have a Google for his email address, if you can't find it PM me. I've never met the bloke, but he appears to an an absolute star. If you can take any spares out that they need I suspect you'd have a friend for life - seriously. Andy
  2. Favourite Series ------ 109 Station Wagon Favourite Defender -- 130 crew cab with box body But I wouldn't have either in real life, they look useful, but dont have the refinement/comfort I need at my age. A Disco II TD5 LSE would be pretty close to ideal Money no object - New Rangie dipped liberally in Overfinch sauce
  3. Isn't it nice to see my Ibex in daylight ? ....... ....... ........... .........
  4. I dunno, I order t-shirts, collect money, arrange to be a central postage point - and what do I get - abuse. God I love this place Hopefully you all have a wonderful weekend - I guess if I said I was off to Amsterdam - with da Boyz - staying in a hotel near a certain district - I'd be playing up to my reputation
  5. PayPal'd to Jim earlier this morning - he's got it already
  6. Would an in-tank pump from a 3.9 Rangie pump diesel or even veg oil reliably ? Not for the engine directly, but for moving fuel from an auxilary tank to the main tank.
  7. This looks quite cool Shame about the Microsoft logo though - but its all irrelevant, he'd have to catch me first, and our Jez is no whippet , I could just lay a distracting trail of fags'n'biscuits and he'd be off following them and forget all about me
  8. Simon sponsoring the tee-shirt was a truly noble jesture It brings together all that is great about this forum You can't please all of the people, all of the time If a few people cancel their orders because of the X-eng logo - thats life, its still money and love in the pot for Jez. There is no truth in the rumour that Simon is only sponsoring the t-shirts because he couldn't work out how to get his logo onto the 2nd phase of merchandise - the Flying Spanners Wig
  9. No problemo - let me have an approx size, and I'll cut you a chunk off. If you return some of the tools you've previously borrowed I'll lend you a set of hollow punches for the bolt holes.
  10. Les 300TDI Disco - circa P-reg I used one on MogLite They are quite easy to shorten - if that makes the conversion easier Hope it helps Andy
  11. Shouldn't that be - nitrile rubber sheet Fridge - I've got gasket paper in ~2mm thickness if that helps - kinda corky in texture.
  12. Large please Mr Corrode Finger - I've got PayPal - you can square up at the Shires social on Thursday - okay Andy
  13. I might have a spare brand new pulley at home - if I can find it. Would that do ? SO21 - so close enough Andy
  14. I've spent so much on bacon slicer disks for my grinder - I'd have been most of the way to paying for a decent plasma cutter !!
  15. thanks The smaller of the two drawers, the slide mechansim will separate completely when a couple of safety catches are released. Just depends on what rails you steal from work
  16. Okay - its in my Isuzu - get over it (well maybe not the brown interior !!) but the construction would equally well work in a Disco or a Range Rover. Its been made from what I had lying around, rather than a big budget project. Total cost about £40 on fittings I really am not a huge fan of chequer plate, but I had loads of it !! There are some more photos and build up info Enjoy
  17. For Shires members really But shirelrc.com is moving to another ISP. Therefore there is likely to be some downtime on the website over the next few days until it sorts itself out any shirelrc.com email addresses are likely to be a bit flakey too. If anyone needs any info - then feel free to PM me.
  18. these are cr@p in my opinion, I put a load of these on my 12V stuff a few years back, and every end pin has sprung out - they are about £5 a time too
  19. Welcome back - looking forward to a full de-brief once you've thawed out - I bet todays weather has come as a blessed relief
  20. at £2,450 it says sucessful drug deal to me
  21. So what happens when a small stone gets in ? Vintage cars used cone clutches FWIW - but thats the limit of my knowledge
  22. Exactly what he said - as I said in my PM's Beadlocks on the 36's like we discussed will also make the driveability worse again. Putting aside the potential legal implications - which we've done to death. Spinning up all that extra steel will affect performance, driveability and braking too. I hate to be a party pooper - but I bet they aren't speed rated for a 4.2 LSE either. For a truck that will see road miles - that is a biggie IMHO.
  23. Oy - who rattled your cage - at least its original and completed. Write those words down - you'll have forgotten them by the time yours rolls out

  25. I did my mog wheels by putting them on a axle and rotating them, with a run-out gauge. Very awkward to do, and get right that way. The way (I think it was Paul W suggested) is to get a flat bench, put a large (10"+) tube through the middle of the rim. The tube is cut to the height where you want the wheel centre. You can just then put the wheel centre in, tap it down so it rests on the top of the tube. Providing, bench is flat and the tube is cut accurately - one square rim ready to weld up. Actually thinking about it, if you were to do it up-side down, you could then put the tack welds into place without disturbing the "jig" Clear as mud
