  1. Have you seen the avatar ? This wont have any problem climbing on the trailer, but its a bl00dy rough way of doing it
  2. The trailer does have a couple of jacks on the rear, but to be honest I think I would have been too lazy to use them.......until you told those stories
  3. Nice one Bish - I'm tempted to say -show your working - but I wouldn't understand it I'll start cutting some steel, and we'll see how it goes.
  4. Nice one - interesting...... So you'd triangulate a center spar, rather than both the outside ones. That will help keep the weight down I did think about waffles, alas I just sold my long pair at Sodbury - typical !!
  5. Oh yes - I see where you are coming from with that - I like that idea a lot
  6. I did wonder about that, but if the trailer isn't on level ground, then the legs would be either too long/short ?
  7. Well I just picked up my new trailer yesterday. Alas it didn't come with any ramps. I've got loads of box section - 40x40 x 1.5mm wall. If I make two ladder style ramps, out of the box - will they bend too much ? A piccie Some numbers The ramps will be about 1.8m long They will be about 0.6m off of the ground when connected to a level trailer on flat ground I want them to be able to load my Ibex and MogLite, both are about 2200kgs, the Ibex is a bit front heavy, MogLite is about 50:50 I don't want to buy any steel, as I've got loads of this stuff. I've also got 50x25 1.5mm wall. Would that be a better bet ? Andy
  8. Well done to Mum and Dad, I was gonna give you a call today to see how things are going - seems I missed all the action. Hope India likes her new sister/dolly/plaything. As for doubts on parentage - I think that is very unfair, its gonna be pretty easy to tell - has she got a beard or not
  9. I believe you are trying to do what I do with my email. I'm with BT Broadband. My outgoing mail server is mail.btinternet.com Yet my incoming mail server belongs to fasthosts. I pay £15 a year to Fasthosts to provide me with mail services from marshallsay.com. Its possible that you don't need it if your severage webhosting already provides you with pop3. But I don't pay for hosting anymore, I use the BT space with redirects. Works well and is a cheap solution thats pretty reliable and yet I still control the domain. Hope it helps.
  10. I had to be careful how I bolted mine down, as it could go out of alignment, and then the drum was really right. I suspect its just an alignment issue.
  11. My MOT man is going to miss a big stone-chip on my windscreen. Yes that was future tense !! He told me he was going to miss it when take it there in a couple of week
  12. Shamelessly stolen from an Isuzu website !! Seems it was driven there by the owner, and not stolen I wonder if the towbar was tried, whould have sheared off ? Anyone need a spare tyre for an '06 Freelander ?
  13. I've been offered a 12'x 6' Ifor Williams flatbed trailer at sensible money. Alas I need a bed width of ~7' for MogLite. Do you think it would be feasible to bolt on 6-9" extension to each side to add some width. With a bit of triangulation down to the main chassis rails ? Moglite is on 12" tyres, and the rear track is 6'6" but the front track is closer to 7", so a fair percentage would be on the original bed.
  14. Was SS3 where the kissin' was going on ? Jez's time there was three hours off the pace for that stage. If's and but's don't count, but if that time was on-course with the other front runners, you would have bought home the big pot
  15. I've just come off the phone to Fridge in deepest Russia I wanted to find out about him and Russian ladies - but he wanted to talk Ladoga - Like I'm interested Excuse me if I've got any of the facts wrong, but the line was bad, and there were lots of chainsaws at the Russian end. Seems Dan's Rangie has taken a bit of a beating, and he hasn't finished enough stages to get a placing, so he's now a spectator, but still running. Fridge's 109 is running well, seems a power steering hose causes trouble on full pressure/lock, but he can drive around that. Jez and Kim came across a mad proto vehicle, stationary, on full throttle, as the driver had gassed himself (dunno about co-driver). They gave him (them ?) the kiss of life until the medics arrived. I'm not sure if they regained conciousness whilst getting a Basingstoke kiss from Jez, or what trauma councilling is like in Russia, but no doubt we'll find out soon. Jez and Kim now cannot move for cameras, and seem to be lapping up the attention in quite a serious manner, whilst the rest of the British crew arse about in the background of the photo/video Again top work fellas anybody got any ready excuses to give my employers when they find out I've been calling a mobile in Russia from the company mobile
  16. I just hope it wasn't a kiss of life Jez smelling of Russian fags and swamps - ehhwwhh. Oh sorry better watch my language - I meant Russian cigarettes Keep it up fellas
  17. I wasn't stuck - I could still drive forwards and backwards, it was just the rolling over to the side bit onto steel fence posts that knocked the wind out of my sails Great day out though, I particularly enjoyed Matt's demonstration of why he needs spring retainers and HD halfshafts matt.wmv
  18. Jules If its a UK car its almost certainly got lockers, if its Jap import, then it almost certainly hasn't Lockers are on a rotary switch on the dash, to the left of the steering column. hope it helps
  19. Dunno how much they cost, but the HotRod boys in the US install air-con systems by a company called Vintage Air. They are designed for retro-fitting, so fitting should be okay. If you've got plenty of roof space, a camper van style roof mount might work ? Andy
  20. Isuzu BigHorn here as a daily driver
  21. Good for a laugh is reason enough But with a working hotwire EFI ready to drop into a Landie/Kit-car could make it a sweet purchase for somebody ? No dead Range Rover or wiring nightmares - almost plug'n'play
  22. Nice one - I've still got the heater pipes on it, so it will be easy enough to dribble some water through.
  23. I've got a nice 3.9 V8 at home. Its currently surplus to requirements, so I'm gonna sell it. However as I've got all the ancilaries for the EFI and stuff, I figured it might be possible to get it running on the stand - to demonstrate to prospective purchasers. The alternator and power-steering pump are currently off so thats easy I've got a spare battery - no problemo there. I've wired up hotwire from scratch on MogLite - so that should be okay. I think I know how I'm going to do a little 5 litre fuel tank/pump assembly. I don't have any oil cooler or radiator, and can't be a5sed setting them up anyway. But I reckon if I join the oil pipes together so they form a loop, it will survive without water for 30 second demonstration runs ? I dont have any exhaust system - not even manifolds, but I do have a decent open space and a variety of fire-extinguisers. An oil pressure light and a kill switch will probably feature in the build up. Any reason why I shouldn't do it ? What have I forgotten ? Yes there will be video of me burning down the neighbourhood
