  1. Its quite noticeable that the 'worst' places for fuel and costs depending on how you assess it are the European countries!! Obviously the EEC is of benefit........... yeah right?
  2. Hmmm....... seller joined today......... does not even know about the MOT...... Scammer????
  3. Coszuki, Want to/ consider keeping the bulkhead, as its the firewall to the engine bay, might in the end even be easier to get rid and fab own. No doors, no screen, no heater, no wipers, absolute minimum to make it roadworthy.
  4. Umm, this rant reminds me, i must get my rear foglight fixed on my truck!
  5. Well, because i built a hybrid, on a 100" RRC chassis i had a bit more length to play with, and made Kingcab, just for the comfort. But when i did that after chopping up the donor 109 tub, best to look at my build thread in members vehicles, "Another shires 100" Kingcab", the bulkhead needed to be replaced. The easiest way was to use a vertical ally sheet, the space thats gained is storage on a normal 90 as the bulkhead goes from angled to straight. If you want more space for pushing the seat back, then the whole bulkhead, needs to be moved back to creat the kingcab, but you also have to extend the roof, more cutting and shutting. Might be easier to look at my thread, than explain. Anyway heres pics of the cab showing the vertical bulkhead and the stretch of 6inches in the cab. Not great but the best i have got. The extra space the kingcab gave. The outside of the kingcab
  6. Simon, As you appear to be the forum Vitarra 'oracle', is the bulkhead and floor rigid enough to self support itself if the windscreen pillars and screen were removed, in the same way that the front of the donor shell is used in a RR based dakar? I appreciate that some sort of cage is then needed like the tray back trucks but thats not a problem.
  7. Its a easy straightforward job. Converted a truck cab 110 to a hardtop, whole job with a helper took an afternoon, and it was done in a field with basic hand tools and a battery drill. As far as the bulkhead goes, finding a genuine one if needed, again is a drill and pop rivet operation. Or if you make a bulkhead, which i did on my hybrid, use a decent thickness of ally checker plate, and you can create a straight bulkhead, gives a bit more cab space, as its not angled. Biggest hassle doing this was cutting the checker plate, it was about 5mm thick on mine. Also if you do this dont forget to seal the joins to try to keep the water out.
  8. You are aware of my idea Simon , however, i am not going into details on the internet..... just yet!! B) I was after the piccies to try and get my brain around some 'i wonder if' thoughts. All i will say, is that my plan has light weight as one of its aims. Its an area that i have asked about before, soo not much of a surprise to regulars. Also is the 'vitarra' shell attached in a similar way that a RRC shell is attached to the chassis? ie... if i 'bobtailed' the body tub, it would still remain attached and keep its form, if that makes sense? EDIT should of followed simon's link before asking the last question, and thanks, your pics are what i was after, i will go find the other link on difflock when i am not at work!!
  9. As it says i have an idea, and was wondering if someone had any pics of a Suzuki Vitarra as a rolling chassis, preferrably a swb version. Would like to see some pics of the chassis with axles and engine, preferably from the back. Have tried a few net searches but not found what i hoped for. Please dont flame for the 'S' word, and thanks in advance B)
  10. Slightly o/t but i like the 303 lookalike HMT 400.
  11. So wheres the vid from the first swim then? B)
  12. Just a thanks to Jules( if you were the organiser) for the fun day at Bunny Lane, really enjoyed the trial section. Any chance of doing some more, trial sections that is?
  13. Be nice as a donor engine......... but i was considering it as a daily driver. Sounds like the engine is superb, but lacking in a Range Rover, might have to consider the 330d BMW. Also sounds like the economy is painful in the RR, but appears good when looking at it in the BMW.
  14. Second the mini one for size. Have one for the hybrid, will get around to fitting one day! Other than that, a Fiat cinqucento(sp?) has a compact neat heater, would have had that but some swine had butchered the one i found in a scrappers. The mini one only cost £10 with all the bits.
  15. It is the td6 as found in the current(pre tdv8) Rangey. I know the old BMW 2.5 6cyl diesel(P38) is the BMW unit, and is regarded as a bit gutless in the P38. As Pugwash has confirmed, it appears to be the same engine as found in the 330d.
  16. What are these like? I understand they are the same as found in the BMW's, such as the 330d etc? Are the engines any good? Mileage they can do? Repairs? What to watch for? I might have got my engines wrong, if so i will shut up and go away.
  17. Dont think anyone else noticed the dress............. or planned on looking at it for long! I'll go before i get in any trouble!
  18. Umm, not sure.......... but who's going to build a replica, before its launched?
  19. Umm, 76%, i am well chuffed, especially when i consider how well i did in A level physics............ U grade!
  20. NO, you cant tow anything over 750kgs, unless you have taken the trailer test. As you only passed 2.5yrs ago, you miss the critical date of having passed before 1997 when you could tow a trailer upto 3.5tonne on a normal car licence like the lucky old ones, like me! Sorry, for the bad news.
  21. Saw the 890 RRC one, but thats going to be to long when the distance is about 720mm, esp for front. Thats why we looked at the 110, seemed logical at the time. Does anyone know where a custom prop can be made around Southampton area? Its all gone too well soo far, knew there would be a snag coming soon!
  22. Looking at the list, i think its gonna have to be a custom prop or two. We checked out Nays 110 to see what the props were, length wise and had the donor disco's to hand. Front one was about 720mm IIRC, seems that all are shorter on the list. (length may be out cos it was yesterday now)
  23. Well, i enjoyed it. But it would have been nice to get an insight into the commentary.......... just needed subtitles??? Never watched a foreign language film before.................... in public!!!
  24. Umm, not bad!! Cant believe that you blow a whole £6 on a car wash?
  25. Good news, soo what does your free..lander motor owe you too have got it legal?
