  3. Ok thanks Les. I dont suppose you know the part No for the seal do you my LT77 is a 56A, and also the seal that goes in the transfer box LT230 22D
  4. Ok thanks Les and Gordon. Any tips for changing the seal? should i put a self tapper in the seal and then pry the seal out? and should i tap the new one in with a hammer and a peice of tube?
  5. :(i had a feeling this might be the case is there any point trying to find anywhere else that it could be coming from or is that the only real place and should i just accept it and crack on with taking the transfer box off
  6. Anyone got any ideas of possible places that could leak?

  8. Hi all, I had a nice surprise this morning of noticing a small puddle of ATF on my drive So i crawled under and had i look and took a picture its an lt77s by the way: It seems to be leaking from somewhere and running down and dripping off the drain plug and the transfer box cover bolts. The gearbox was rebuilt about 2000 miles ago so i would be surprised if it was the mainshaft seal, does anyone have any ideas of simple things i can check? (the drain plug is tight so dont think its that) thanks in advance
  9. looks like im just going to have to accept that everything in there will get covered in mud and water. i think i will do as Fridge says and add some drain holes at the bottom or How thick tubing would you need if you used a breather tube and raised it up high? thanks for the advice so far everone

  13. ^^^^^^^ ditto NFU get my vote they are so easy to deal with and they were fine with all my modifications.
  14. i think the alternator will be a higher amperage however i didnt change my wiring and it has been fine for over 2 years but it could be worth checking just incase. Yes the large brown wire goes on the bigger stud and the little wire goes on the small stud not sure about the suppressor thingy HTH.

  17. Does anyone have a part no for a 1995 RRC 3.9EFI alternator its got the flat type fan belt not v-belt. It seems there are quite a few different ones so not sure which one i need. thanks in advance
  18. You could try starting with a jump pack to rule out whether its the battery or not. Also if you switch the headlights on whilst trying to start, if the headlights dim then its not a bad connection if the stay the same then there is probably a bad connection somewhere.
  19. you put the jump lead between the battery negative and starter motor body and then see if the starter woks, if it does then that means its a bad earth if it doesnt then the problem lies somwhere else.
  20. This could be worth a look http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=1468&st=0 as it is also a high powered td5 although i think this one has an auto box might be worth considering.
