I know the companies claim that the removal of that part of the bulkhead doesnt compromise strength, but then they would say that wouldnt they.. Personally i like that bit of metal behind me running from one side to the other..
Ive never liked the idea of removing the rear bulkhead. The main bulkhead and rear bulkhead provide the only real side-impact protection for front seat occupants. Yes removing it gives more room for taller drivers but at what cost?
Each to their own mind you
I recently purchased a pair of puma type inner wings for £50 however the soundproofing that comes with them ideally needs replacing.
Ive tried looking at numcat for part numbers but the site seems to be down. Does anyone know the part numbers for the soundproofing? Thanks
When i get odd squeeks from my rear end its usually a sign last nights curry was a bit suspect....
Sorry. Couldnt help it. Whats that? My coat.....oh and my hat!
Fantastic stuff Sam. Sounds the business as well. Im continuing to watch this thread with great interest though. Bet it was a huuuuge relief when it fired up first time!
Hi Chris
Yes thats the hole i mean. Ive had a look at that muc7000 but noticed it was square. Is it just stuffed into that hole round the steering column? Seems a bit heath robinson - even for LR........
Looking to fit steering column and notice the td5 bulkhead has a strange looking oblong-esque shaped hole where the column passes through it.
Spent a little while looking to see if there was a matching shaped grommet/seal but couldnt find anything. What parts am i missing for this?
Im really enjoying this thread Sam. Well done on a cracking job so far! When i get round to doing mine im probably going to end up reffering to this thread as much as Nige's!
As has been said before, a picture tells a thousand words so keep em coming - especially the wiring ones lol
As already mentioned above, as long as its timken i wouldnt worry about it. Never heard a bad word about them. Not a company that suffers poor quality control..
Dont have any experience with their products, but looking at their site they look pretty good. Especially like the idea of the carrier not putting load through the hinges. Although not a big problem with standard size wheel/tyre, i certainly dont like the idea of a 35" wheel/tyre baring its load through the hinges for long..
Please. I havent a clue what your problem is, but keep going til you get to the bottom of it. Dont, whatever you do give in and put the coal burner in it...
So the concensus from the v8 guys is to use the carb air-bin. Given that im 'squirting this engine, will i be able to utilise the carb version?
Found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-V8-air-filter-housing-and-filter-Part-No-ERC8085-/251052823443?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item3a73ea1393
