  1. I read in an old post someone (cant remember who) saying that they saw a britpart lorry parked at the tradesmans entrance of a main landrover dealer. I thought no, surely not...... Oh yes. How wrong was i.... I recently sent off for a pair of new trailing-arm front bushes. Ordered genuine as the britpart rubber bushes are notoriously bad. Guess what... Parts arrived in the dreaded blue bag. The bag had the part number followed with a 'G' (i presume for genuine). The bag also had 'OEM' on the sticker too. What is going on here regarding LR parts? I will post pics up of the bag the parts came in on monday as i cant get to the workshop until then.
  2. Okay, so your choice of retailer was a little suspect - lesson learned hopefully. You dont deserve to be treated like that though.. It could have caused a nasty accident. Go along to Billing with the broken radius arm and shove it up his rectum. That will teach him some manners....
  3. Attached are pics of the pump in question Feel free to post your thoughts
  4. Quick update. I phoned the parts supplier in question this morning and queried this. I just said that, given the amount of money spent, i was concerned that a pattern part had been sent to me by mistake. They explained that sometimes the parts have no manufacturers stamp on them - even genuine depending on who LR gets to make them. They said that if the box looked untampered, and had a genuine LR sticker on it, it definately will be genuine. However as previously mentioned, its easy for boxes to be 'recycled'. The bottom line is i have no way to disprove them. Im not naming the parts supplier as they have been good in the past but if i find ive been sent pattern goods for genuine money i certainly will!
  5. The old freelander pump had a LR logo on it - mine has nothing. Not even a bosch or lucas logo..
  6. Fair point. I just found it interesting that the freelander pump had the logo, and my supposed 'genuine' pump does not...
  7. Hi Chris, and thanks for your response. That is exactly my concern... I will not be a happy camper if ive paid £200 plus vat for a £70 pump......
  8. Ive just bought a new fuel pump STC4344. Bought it from a reputable parts supplier - NOT britpart. It cost just over £200 as i wanted genuine. Question is this - do all genuine LR parts have the LR oval logo stamped somewhere on the part? Although the pump came in a box that had the genuine sticker on it, the pump itself is unmarked. The reason im wondering is that on a friends freelander he had to renew the pump (as it had covered uss enterprise mileage) and we noticed that the pump itself was stamped with the logo.... Any thoughts would be appreciated as i wouldnt like to think that ive paid genuine parts money for non-genuine parts...
  9. Microcat is mistaken. 3 is definately not the same as 4. Number 5 i already have on my tank. Number 3 screws into number 5 to hold the pump securely in place. Number 4 (seal) goes between the pump and number 5..... Microcat strikes again. Thanks for looking though
  10. the locking ring (number 3) defo doesnt come with the new pump. is there a part number for that? cheers
  11. From that diagram its numbers 3 + 4 Thanks very much for your help. I can only find diagrams for the 90 for some reason and i wasnt sure if the parts would be different from the 110..
  12. Could someone PLEASE help me with this... Local LR dealer (Parks LR in Ayr) was so unhelpful/downright arrogant i ended up walking away. It was either that or he was coming over the counter...... Need part numbers for fuel pump rubber seal and locking ring.. suitable for pump STC4344 Thanks
  13. I know im dragging up an old thread but did anyone ever come up with an idea to make a neat inspection hatch for the pump? I just dont like the idea of hacking through a longitudinal AND transverse body support. I reckon if someone came up with a kit to do the job, it could be quite the little money-spinner.
  14. Could someone please show me the microcat page for a 110 TD5 fuel tank assy. My microcat only seems to show the 90 TD5 for some reason??
  15. Looking for part numbers for 110 TD5 fuel pump ring and rubber seal Thanks
  16. Now that ive discovered that i actually need STC4344, what else will i need to buy in order to fit this pump to the TD5 tank. Will i need sealing rings / bolts etc?
  17. Im retro-fitting STC4344 into my plastic TD5 fuel tank. Apart from the pump itself, is there anything else i will need in the line of sealing rings, bolts etc??
  18. Just to add, ive discovered 2 part numbers for V8 disco fuel pump - ESR3926 and PRC9409. Britishparts.co.uk show pics of them both but im not sure which one i need..
  19. Just wondered if you managed to lay your hands on a part no for me as obviously my 110 parts book is no use...
  20. As title. Which underbody sealer dries hard? Ive been using hammerite underbody seal but it stays very tacky. Id prefer something that dries solid like the stuff they use from the factory. Any thoughts / experiences?
  21. OME stuff is definately better gear, but if those 15k miles are a mixture of road and rough-stuff they may have had a hard time....
  22. I recently ordered a pair of body mount brackets. Part No NRC5478. Received 2 brackets today Part No KVU101430. Ive been told that the latter number superceded NRC5478. Problem is they look nothing like the bracket shown in the parts book... Can anyone shed any light on this?
  23. Thanks for the info guys. Simon, unfortunately by the time i read your post i already ordered a V8 rad.. :-( Thanks for the offer though. One other thing, my R380 seems to have oil-cooler lines attached to the side. I also understand that there should be an engine oil cooler.. Where do these things bolt onto?
  24. Really. Im sure ive seen a few different rad mount types? Its a good point regarding hose routing though. Id like to use standard V8 hoses if i could but without seeing where the hoses attach on a V8 rad its hard to tell..
