  1. Yes Mo total sense, does that connector come off easy then? Won affect the pump In any way? Cheers
  2. Righty oh, next bit of free time i get i'll go for it. Ive offered it up and it goes tight straight away so didn't wanna risk going any tighter. I'll give it a good clean and see if there's a difference then try the file. Thanks guys will will keep you posted
  3. Hehe good one Mo, I tried to sort a thread years ago and made a boo boo of it so I'm a tad apprehensive about doing it again. The rest of the thread looks ok, just the little bit at the front needs filed away? Am I making a mountain out of a Mo hill lol? ??
  4. Ok so managed to get out a little while after work, here's what I'm faced with....... hope they come out as clear as the originals, you can see a chip in the start of the thread, I'm very weary about forcing anything. Can't find my teenie weenie wee file set anywhere !., grrrrrrr so....... how would you approach this? DC
  5. Yep it's the fact that it's threaded is my main worry ?? so what's the advice if I can't get the other one on properly? ?? Great tip on turning over the engine until diesel comes out for the bleed ??
  6. Happy Sunday everyone, so the Mrs came in today and said, "why don't we go away in Doug (The Landy) on Friday for easter for a night or two" I informed her I discovered a leaking injector pipe where it connects to the fuel pump. (Sad face) so looking at the pipe, it looks like the previous work was a botch/poor job. The nut onto the fuel pump actually looks bigger than the originals, and it's been put on squint/threaded. So I have a new genuine injector pipe ready to go on. However, I'm a tad scared to just try whip the other one off. Anyone have any experience with what to expect or tips on how to do it right? If I can get this leak sorted I'll put up with the leaking rear crankshaft seal for a weekend and take extra oil to head off with her indoors and the dog ?????
  7. I actually seen this during the week, and with no insult intended whatsoever, I thought it was a bit of a cheek to ask for that. I sold my RRC for a lot less and it had a lot more goodies on it. It's got a snorkel and a winch on it but basic Tyres. Sorry but it just don't look right...... IMHO
  8. Brush on seam sealer bought ?
  9. Thanks Bowie69, was wondering if the silicone type was better.....
  10. As the title says, what would you recommend?
  11. Engine is coming out soon to fix the rear crankshaft seal. Again sorry for delayed reply. Emails are going into my junk folder which I've tried to fix. (I think I've got a Land Rover iPad) I'm thinking this job is getting bigger. ??
  12. Sorry to drag this up again, I'm sure my transfer box has ATF leaking from it. Not EP90 like Ralph recommends..... hmmmmmm
  13. Yeh I found if you put G at the end of the part number, it doesn't mean much. I've ordered the dowty seal from turner, it's pricey but I'm hoping it'll last a while. Clutch and gaskets still to be ordered, bit more research to find out what I actually need in total. ??
  14. Ok the seal has been ordered, let's pray the £47 (that includes postage) is the business !! On the normal clutch kit, I'm struggling to find a valeo one, anyone have a link? I use paddocks and John Craddock and eBay. ....
  15. Appreciate the advice guys, many thanks ! ok, I'll get the turner seal and the standard valeo clutch kit. I hope this helps others in the future. As usual the forum is always there for guidance. ????
  16. This part number is showing genuine......ERR2532G, that's what paddocks have on offer.the blue packet also put me off. So..... turners seal? On this truck, I am doing as much as I can to bring it up to a higher standard. Lots of adventures are planned in the years to come. So if the HD parts will make it last longer, that's what I'll go for. If there's no difference, then the valeo normal clutch kit will do. I'm only doing the clutch as the engine is coming out. It's the seal that's needs to be sorted first priority..... DC
  17. Was thinking the turner seal was expensive, would this do the job ok? http://www.paddockspares.com/err2532g-rear-crank-oil-seal-oe-manufacturer.html No I'm not a fan of getting the look from her indoors as I'll be at the mates for weekends no doubt. ???
  18. Would this be the fork I'm after? http://www.paddockspares.com/ftc2957hd-heavy-duty-clutch-release-fork.html
  19. Thanks guys, I'm going for the HD valeo and HD fork. Here's a link for dreaded seal, (well two links) for me is majorly over priced ?? And the other if the same quality, decent price? http://www.turnerengineering.co.uk/err-2532-rear-oil-seal-c2x21124150 http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-ERR2532 if the dowty seal is the dogs doo da's, I'll get it.
  20. Also found this seal, would it be worth the extra cost as it's a dowty seal? http://www.turnerengineering.co.uk/err-2532-rear-oil-seal-c2x21124150
  21. Reading this with interest, I'm planning on doing this seal to my 2.5 n/a and also to replace the clutch. I've been looking at parts and seen the two different seals, ERR2532 and the G one. So the G part is what I am after? How has the seal been been working so far? Did you use the G part? Thanks !
  22. Thanks for the comments guys, again, I don't know why I'm not getting email notifications ? Ok so, Ralph are those parts numbers for all the HD parts? Would it be best to also put on a HD fork? If it's going to last longer I'd rather go HD. I'll make sure I get a genuine seal too. That link for the kit, is there an HD kit? as Ralph suggests the plate is different. I'll see if I can tweak these settings and get emails now ?
  23. Evening gang, so the rear crankshaft seal seems to be perishing on my Landy, after 650km trip to glencoe the oil (defo oil) from the bellhousing was all over the front crossmember. So, me and the mate have decided to get it done before our next trip out to skye in may. Ive been reading the tech archives and seen Les Henson used a borg and beck clutch kit. But I have also read, Valero are good? which kit would you use? It's ts for a 2.5 n/a into the LT77 gearbox. Aslo is there a part number for both? Or a search should bring it up? Thanks folks !!
