  1. when was its last service. last time a friend came to me with that issue i just needed new plugs and leads....
  2. sounds to me like emulsion. betcha the head gasket's gone too.....
  3. on the current points system obviously that would end up on a Q, but with that option gone i suspect it would be put on the year with the highest points accumulated

    Which V8?

i'd go 4.0 but only because i had one in my p38 and loved it. and even after being massively overheated blowing the headgasket and warping both heads (radiator was blocked) a skim, pressure test and new rad had it running sweet as a nut...
  5. have you changed the radiator yet? i guarantee that's your issue! your symptoms are almost identical to mine.
  6. loctite red is designed to be broken down by heat so it can be undone, so not surprising really.
  7. yes i agree, but ive been using it for a similar application for over a year with no issues...
  8. this stuff should do it http://www.workshopping.co.uk/product/sas-stud-lock-high-strength-50ml-bottle/BC-VANSAS2710/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shop&utm_campaign=feed&gclid=CKaM36PVxL4CFQzItAodu2IAjQ
  9. if its anthing like mine (same symptoms) you need a new radiator. my core was rotten.
  10. http://www.whitehousecampsite.co.uk/Home.html we (a group of bikers) stay here every year.
  11. ive been watching this and have counted the hilux and the land cruiser's major mechanical failures. there were at least 4 and the video ended with the land cruiser being towed home. nothing they did would have challenged my discovery. so what gives? i thought these trucks where supposed to be stronger than landrovers?
  12. here's a few pics of a punch hunt i competed in today..... i came last but ho hey. i had fun, added a few nice dents and put a few creases in my seat when getting some some of the few punches i could A)find AND B)do....
  13. ok, another shakedown run yesterday and some new issues. one is i tore all 4 engine/gearbox mounts. thats gonna be a fun fix....... another is the need for a new top rad hose. saw that coming but got cheap and didnt replace it. my bad. last is i managed to discharge both batteries so im looking at a alternator upgrade. i dont want to go duel (dont know if it can be done) but a upgrade to approx 150A would be nice. anyone know if you can get one to fit a 2.0mpi?
  14. and is also the hard way of doing it. a web proxy is easier
  15. taken it out for a test play and immediately ripped a tyre off the rim. result is i stuck a set of inner tubes in it.. problem solved. it is ace offroad. im very happy.
  16. these are ok, use one myself. never let me down. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Recovery-Winch-13000lb-12V-With-Wireless-Remote-Control-ATV-Heavy-Duty-/141140407111?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item20dc9fb347
  17. i suspect they're made in batches on slightly different frequencies, so the chances are low that you'll ever meet another on the same frequency.... but the last place you want to find out is at a winch challenge event when your hanging from a tree.......
  18. i know i've tried to use my remote on a mates winch and it didnt work, it also wouldnt work on the winch on a trailer i hired.
  19. got one on my trayback. its been ok used most weekends for a year. and ive buried the winch and solenoid housing in mud and water many times.
