  1. Filling in your profile always helps as members near you will show you their installs.....
  2. Yes I do realise the weight implications but I never carry more than 100kg in the back. I'd guessed the prop would be too short from my days of fitting salisburys in 88"s years ago. Spring seats would need swapping I'd guessed. And,to your reply Mike.... The filler plug shot out last week stripping the thread. The breather was NOT blocked and today..... almighty bang and there's now a bullet hole in the rear cover!!!!! Still drives,no whines or crunches!!!
  3. My 110 sailsbury has exploded.... Will my 'Spare' 90 axle fit? Both are from 300tdi vehicles!
  4. Love the Hubcaps.......Can you do a better pic of them please?
  5. I went but, missed it last year due to bad advertising.. Used to go as a seller in the past but, this year just took a S3 that I had restored on my truck. Found 70% of the sellers were selling ex-mil tat at crazy prices!!1 Penthouse Lamp for £40 Shame really as this used to be a good day out.....
  6. Simon, I have been using 2 and 70 in the L/R for over 30yrs and find it very useful! I have a HF Transceiver but...No aerials.... How about a X-Eng HF Ant.? I'm sure they would sell well! All the HF Mobile aerials I've seen are too fragile for "our" use.
  7. As I said I can't run another alternator so that's out! I am aware of the 24-12 Droppers and have used them for low current supply. What I need is to charge a 12v battery, from the 24v system, whilst the engine is running. I have looked at DC-DC Converters but, are they "Clever enough" to regulate their output current/voltage to the needs of the 12v battery?
  8. Hi, My Landrover is 24v.... I need to charge a 12v battery to run other onboard equipment. Sadly I cannot run 2 alternators so......Any ideas please?
  9. I got knocked back after 4 claimfree years with F.P. Went to Academy...Great people good price! Strange thing is both the old, and now my new underwriters are.....Highway! WTF?
  10. Thanx.....That's what I thought too! If they can fit a head then hoses will be a walk in the park!!!
  11. Can anybody tell me how to tell if my cylinder head is "Metric" ? I've had question from sombody who wants to buy my Turner Unleaded Head. Thanx....
  12. What he said and........... Don't worry about your MOT.... Reversing lights are not a testable item... Nor any extra lights added
  13. When they were on offer in the summer, a friend bought one.... He came round to weld my gate hinge.. After a 50mm run it cut-out! 20 mins later it still wasn't working.. I disassembled it and bypassed the thermal cut-out, which had self distructed!! Welded another 50mm and couldn't see for the smoke bellowing out of the welder...So.... Don't buy one if you expect to weld with it!
  14. No but.......Beware the terminals get very hot!!! Use good quality connectots NOT CRIMPS!
  15. Errrrr Are not Defenders made out of Ali
  16. I also know Duncan for over 20 years and have a transporter.... Let me know if I can help..... Regards Barry
  17. As a MOT Tester I really can't see the problem in Class 7 tests! I test a car "as presented" and look at the Vin Plate. If it's a "Van Body" AND the GVW on the plate is over £3000kg then it's a Class 7 end of... I do not know of a MOT Station that charges more for a Class 7 test. VOSA set the Max price but...As I said I know of nobody who charges the MAX.. As for the Class 7 Test being harder...It is in fact a little bit easier as.. You can have 1mm of tread not 1.6mm as the pass figure
  18. Hi Alfred....Last time we met you were towing an ANTAR with your 109 Scammell...LOL
