I have also got a '87 TD engine , downpipe and radiator with oil cooler in it. still has the starter and alternator
the water pump on it needs replacing, and the rear main oil seal doing while its out.
yours for £200 - collected, northants
look for a cheap disco they can be had for as low as £300 for a rot box which propbaly aint far away from wot you would pay for a td
a tdi is well worth having over a td
If the tappets were massively out of adjustment on a 200 tdi, say .040 +, rather than .010 what would be the symptoms?
would it cause:
misfiring
excess crankpressure forcing oil into the air cleaner
more noticeable engine braking
thanks Dave
On my d90 I have a big tow eye bolted ontot he rear cross member. I have noticed that despite having sizavle chunky spreaders behind it that its pulling throught the member.
what the recommendations for beefing up the whole area and transferring some of the strain down the chassis somehow ?
any ideas?
fed up with water coming into the heater vent on the wing after a little deep wading - what options are there to stop as much water as poss from getting in there other than blocking it up?
...and i dont like those plastic scoop things!
PMSL - like the way when it starts to spurt sparks he starts to curl up a retreat and in advertantly aim it at his mate who is kindly holding his legs!
at a recent pay n play day Isaw a couple of motors shod with the fedimas, the ones with the same tread patterns as the simex ETs.
Where the side wall met the tread they were all mishapen all the way round - its almost as if the tread has been put on in about 8-10 sections - are they supposed to look like that?
How quick to Simex ETs wear out - the reason for askingis that iam going on a little outing to scotland from the midlands - about 700miles round trip - and I have the space to carry a spare set of wheels and tyres
any ideas?
To tap in the bearing inner races I use a spare large (massive) washer from the front radius arm bush where it meets the chassis - fits a treat.
unfortunately me and wheel bearings dont seem to get on, so thanks for the thread Les there is some helpful stuff in there.
...and blue grease, nice!
