  1. fitting a disco 200tdi into a 90td at the moment - oh what fun! the engine is in but we are now onto the fiddling things like working out how to run the interccooler hoses and chopping out the inner wing. also got to secure the clutch hose somehow now as its hitting the exhaust downpipe after i chopped the little bracket off the bulkhead. hunger has meant a break !
  2. do we know which stately home it could be at?
  3. I have got a Waeco CF35 - see here: http://www.mobilegas.co.uk/mobilecoolbox/c...olbox/index.htm pricy, but, excellent bit of kit and comes with a cool jacket to help it. Went to france last year and it froze the contents easily from the cigarette lighter. wouldnt be without it.
  4. We are putting a disco 200tdi into my bro in laws 90 which has a td in it at the moment. Read the tech archive and found loads of help bits (thanks Les) but just need a bit more info.... The question is about how to wire up the glow plugs so that its all automatic like a normal tdi rather than the old 'manually timed' way on the ignition key. We have kept the loom and the relay, but on the disco there were four wires on a multiplug which go somewhere I assume to control it? Any ideas? cheers
  5. My Bro in law and me are transplanting a disco 200tdi into a 90 this weekend - read the tech info in the technical section so am ok on wot to do. (I think) We need to source as close to Northants as poss a new exhaust down pipe section - does anybody know who would have one to sell? I know steve Parker do them but they are in Rochdale - and this needs to be a 'cash' transaction !! Cheers All
  6. I wonder how it would look with chequer plate on it! are there any under bonnet, and underneath piccys anywhere?
  7. I must admit , I did 'rush' them on and didnt clean the sh*t of the hub hand up - my fault! oh the shame!
  8. an update- fitted them last night and found that i had to chop a bit more out of the rear arches, a meeting with Mr Angle Grinder soon sorted that. and on my way to Whaddon today the handling started to feel funny , stopped and had a look and found that the NSfront spacer was loose ( O'er) so the poster that said about them working loose was right!
  9. mach 5 s would be nice, gonna try the spacers out but it looks like its gonna be real close. might even be able to adjust my steering lock stops back so I can turn corners again!
  10. I have got standard 16" modulars on my 2" lifted 90 with 35" x10.5 simexes on, oh and extended bumpstops. I have got some 30mm wheel spacers - if i fit them do you think that they will cause any rubbing of the wheels on the spats, etc... whaddya reckon?
  11. thats a worry, the chassis the worst bit of it, that must mean he has flogged all the rest !!!!
  12. Guy which isolator have you got? the big metal key one from fastlines, or a the plasticky jobbie? if u need to see an installation then u can view my 90 , but its at Jasons place as i'm on hols and hes MOTing for me.....and probably nicking my bits off it as well!!!!
  13. this is what I like about this forum, there are some great comments about bad (and good) supplier experiences lets hope that they take notice
  14. great viewing - the madness of youth!
  15. its a shame that a dispute with a fellow landy owner has got to the stage that it has be aired so publicly - hope this chap sees sense and you get the situation resolved m8
  16. for the money a turbo and manifold would cost you could add a few quid and buy an old wrecker of a Disco and transplant the 200tdi into yours. far more sensible
  17. O'er was gonna get a set of these , may be wise to stick with my modulars and get some spacers instead.
  18. what difference will that make to allowing an engine to run on its side? cant see it myself?!
  19. i got a makita, had it for about a year now following the demise of a black and decker. great piece of kit and not too big so it can get into tighter spaces
  20. i have managed to secure some wheel bearings which I hope will fit my 300 tdi 90 - but they were purchased for a 1992 110. are they the same ? also got the oil seals as well, again for a 110 - will they fit?? thanks
  21. I'll bet that you could fix the Disco though and get it back on the road!
  22. James your option 2 is the one i follow! as contained in the LR manual
