There is a pin on the steering box to which adjustment can be made. IT should finally catch when a good screwing is done on the box!!! I'll find a pic for you soon..
Check pic below...
I just had to make this comment on the overmentioned company I buy petty parts from (Mainly for my td5110 99 my).
I bought prop shaft bolts which took some time to arrive (It was the post). I sent them a mail and told them of the situation. They immedialtely sent another package. The first one arrived shortly. The second one too arrived.
I sent them a message telling them of the second bolts and that they could send a paypal invoice so that I settle the bill. Guess what? They gave it out as FOC!! (Free of charge) How good it is to know that there are still good customer service minded folks around!!
When you put the transfer gear stick back, was it alligned? Just did mine with Valeo and clutch never engaged until I found out that they never aligned when I screwed them back... Also be sure the brake fluid is going perfectly through.
Tried finding a pic to get my point but could not find it!!! sure here it is,,,,,
When I got those "cowish moans" I found out that there was a leak on the hose that connected to the Steering pump. I changed the hose and 2 days afterwards, realised the truck was "peeing" all over the place. SWMBO alerted me and further research showed that the steering pump was leaking like wild honey .. I changed the pump and it is crack dry over the whole area!!!
If this isn't the cause, do listen to the adults above
The Master cylinder was completely knackered!! And the end bolt had tilted (I guess) so there was too much play hence little pressure on the cylinder. Glad I got this sorted.
Cwazy you are right there.... THe master was a wee bit compared to the main one. But I still got some brake fluid sprouting right at my arm ...
Will try driving today after bleeding it up... Ohhh how I miss driving a macho truck rather than this Bimma I'm driving....
I´ll becareful there. I have started the MASTER now. Luckily I bought the pipe that connect the Master to the Slave cylinder. I wish sometimes a defender could be problemless.......
Latest update this morning.
Truck runs at 80km/h om highway and revs like hell
At 40 when I attempt gear change it slips (grrrrrrrr brrrrr)
It needs regular pump on clutch to change.
What i've done:
New slave cylinder
What I am thinking out loud.
Should I change the master cylinder?
Check clutch push rod to see if it is ejected or loose ?
Getting a little bit fed up. might put the truck soon on a 10 pounder-sale!!
This is how it looked like before and after.
"has the clutch fork come insettled inside the bellhousing meaning it cant move properly? " That sounds like it maybe??
