  1. If British Cellophane was still open, I wouldn't be living where i do... I likes tool-station though. Can't rember that being here before.
  2. Its a lovely place I'll have you know! It's a heck of a lot better than I remeber 10 years ago anyway. So selectcase, what do you do around here then. I work for the Environment Agency in B'water.
  3. Mine left the contents of the sump liberally scatter around Ringwood and across the passenger's side of the 90 as it cracked and hole all 4 pistons. I'd say there is a 50/50 chance of a TD surviving beyond 80-130k miles before a bit of a rebuild is required.
  4. As said, you probably find it easiest to get the wires replaced at a welding suppliers. Fit a cut off switch in your battery bay, probably so you access it from the passengers footwell. Earth the winch back to the battery not the chassis, and you'll get better performance. Keef.
  5. Yup it does have a connection socket, well mine does, but never used it. Looking at it again, it is cheap if you just take the unit, but you really need the car charger, maybe the mount, an SD card and software of some description, then it soon mounts up. but still a good price, plus Acers customer service are faultless.
  6. I've got one of those. Bought it xmas 2005 for £200. Can't really fault it at all. GPS works well on Memory Map and the Destinator suplied software. GPS is not so happy working with TomTom though and loses the signal. No bluetooth or wireless, but you can add it in the form of an sd card. Also no compact flash card hole. The unit is not a patch on the quality of my works Ipaq hx4700, but at that price, it is a fantastic bargain. All you need to add is a 1gb SD card, you can then put on a memory map region, and also tomtom.
  7. My school one is a fluke, can't fault it. It is decreed that we have to use fused leads on it in case we touch something we shouldn't, and the metal contact nib must be between 2-4mm so we don't accidentally short them out.
  8. Yeah I would add, you do need to chase him...
  9. Richard is a sound chap, and a honest man. Not the quickest, but is honest. He gave me a set of free galv sliders when he supplied me with a bent winch bumper, then one that didn't fit, then finally one that was right. He is slow, but does what he says in the end. He is Definitely not orange. And his prices are fairly cheap too.
  10. Coupling height would also be an issue, although this is not so important as your bit of rope get longer. I.e. A nato jaw on a 90 would tend to lift help lift up a standard tow ball off a disco.
  11. Got this problem on a works 110. Mr Hobbit thought it could be the brakes playing up... well I think thats what he said anyway. Could be solinoids though.
  12. You want to split the gearbox from engine just to do a nice easy clutch change before you reinstall the unit anyway.
  13. I thought they were just shy of £16 each at paddocks? Well i'll just tape them to my boots and hop round the garden.
  14. I have a set of new 110 HD front springs that I bought for mine, but never fitted then sold the LR. I bought them because I had a hydraulic 525 on the front. Your for £20 + P&P?
  15. If you are thinking of the Government Organisation that makes you wear green t-shirts and drive white landies then you need to grasp this... there are some battles you can win (those from local management) but those that are decreed by national process are just not worth the fight.
  16. I got a £35 quid jobby off ebay. Got a nokia phone battery in so when my phone goes flat just nick it out of there! Bluetooth is the way forward for GPS's. Works with my Ipaq hx4700 really well. Just get a PCMCIA or USB Bluetooth dongle, but just make sure it is under 500mA, or you'll need to use 2 usb ports.
  17. You can buy them from mole valley Farmers and other outlets like that. Just need four of those, for spring washers and four wing nuts.
  18. Don't bother they look Cr@p. Especially if you stick a set of lights on them. They look like a basket you see on the front of those old 'shopper' bicycles.
  19. Saw them on Mark90s 110. Look mucho lot neater than the mill services one. Very nice finish. Sayining that, Mill Services are functional, especially with the sticky-outty bar bits, although not sure if you can jack off them.
  20. The Southdown ones are very neat, and well worth the money if you have a tidy motor.
  21. I had one on my 90. I had the solid ally rear door type, rather than the sheep pen rear door. Mine had good seals as was pretty dust / water tight. The only problem I would say was where the upper and lower tailgates met. There was quite a large gap that would not be easy to fill. Never noticed much water coming in though. Also, I got a matched set of four pad locks (1 key!) from B&Q and that kept it relatively secure.
  22. BBC News Says it is for more polluting cars, so is fairer method I suppose.
